Sorry to derail and disagree but use of non-toxic shot also applies inland....the definition is very curious for inland shooting and most shoots round our way specify NTS only for duck drives.

I fully understand your concerns KJ and comments on here. If for example they are shooting towards your ground at an angle of 60 degree above horizontal and can see clear sky or they are taking overhead birds heading towards your ground with their backs to you, it may well be deemed as a safe shot.........however that does not detract from the "nuisance" or potential hazard situation. Any shoot has a responsibility for safety but also a responsibility towards the feelings of their neigbours. In brief they should be showing good manners to all...that includes all those involved with the shoot and of course their neigbours. I would suggest that you try and have a meeting with the Shoot Captain over a brew or a small libation at your place and point out to him your concerns but so that he can see the situation from the receiving end so to speak,without recourse to Law/BASC guidelines in the first instance. Any shoot worth their salt will take heed after a friendly chat and re-arrange drives/gun positions so as not to cause a problem to their neigbours..... I'm speaking as an ex-keeper and runner of shoots.....I have had this problem before,more than once over the years....and having been made aware have always settled things amicably.....has caused a few headaches on shoot days at times but heh-ho it has also involved having the crack with the neigbours over sloe gin and frutcake Not everyone that shoots or is involved with shoots is a "gentleman" but they should behave as such.....if not there chosen sort shoul be crochet/needlework/knitting. If they have the true interest of the sport in their hearts then it will work out.....if not

You don't have a massive budget especially for a tracked machine. I won't go into the TW/Jensen/GM et all debate as it can side line your thoughts. Perhaps you may be better off looking for someone who wants to upgrade their machine and is looking for a cash buyer rather than a trade in. Which ever route you take the service history of the m/c is very important. The main dealers will be able to ship parts within 24 hrs so nothing to choose there. Perhaps if you find a machine you could take it to your local dealer and ask them to give it a once over ?........If its an honest sale then you can get an unbiased opinion of the m/c's condition to the benefit of both parties. Just my thoughts

Really sorry to hear about your loss,I don't post up much and never have done on these sort of threads cos they have me in bits To lose a Springer coming into her prime is awful,sadly I know,I'm on No 7 of my own breeding(Non commercial) since 1989. Dogs who are constant companions invade your soul......and their early loss is literally soul destroying. I was so pleased to see that you have kept one of her pups, Eileen and what a cracking little dog she looks,how old in that pic ? Anyhow I wish you all the luck with the youngster and think of the great times you will have with her......and the great times you've had with mum Holly & Izzie say hello to Eileen and Spike(JRT !) sort of mumbled the same...
