  2. That was the last day I worked for him, This was about 1999 earning £50 a day soon after I stumbled on a job on the motorway and cleared £550 a week and had a company car:thumbup: Tree work after that was for my self, starting with stuff I could do then got bigger. The firm is exactly the same now 2 cabstars, the same ones in fact and 3 guys. This year im gonna push my advertising in his area.....
  3. Your skilled and experienced and can calculate the risk in the situation you have and know how far you can push your self but in the experience I had, it was for a 2 bit company not long out of college little experience and being the only climber trying to do work on trees out side of my capabilities is dangerous and to have the boss standing on the ground shouting does little for confidence.
  4. When I worked for firms who had stufed up the price they put the pressure on the climber to do the job faster which increases the risk of a accident which is out of order.
  5. The Timberwolf one is crap the hoppers too high and im not sure if its a drum type chipper! Jonsie sells the Jo Beau, Had a Greenmech out for demmo - good machine but I told them I was intrested and no one got back to me!!

  7. The area is compleatly flat ground but has been quite soggy! Im getting it back in on Tuesday and hopefully it will have dried out a bit. What attachments have you and what do you use to pick up and move brash? This machine either comes with a 4 in 1 bucket or a silage grapple.
  8. A bit off topic but seeing as you carvers are in one place i'll ask the question, who carved the tower out of the sequoia? It was fantastic and tried to show some 1 but couldnt find the pics!

  10. plant, labour, seed, profit x estimated number of days
  11. If its stoney use a stone burier.
  12. I was under the impression that if running a newish chain and a cutter is damaged or completely broken off, that IF you have the equipment IE chain breaker and riveter then the cutter should be removed and a new one replaced instead of filling down all the other cutters to suit! That's what I was told to do at college 13 odd years ago.
  13. If you have a lot to go pm Vikki as they have a heizohack and fed with a 360.
  14. I took my relatively new 020 chain to my local stihl dealer as a drive link had snapped and to get them to rivet in a new drive link, they told me that they could only replace 1 rivet as it makes the chain week!! I guess they just wanted to sell me a new chain!
  15. I now always go gentle with engines when cold but in the truck manual is states that it is not nesicary to let idle to warm up but to start and drive off?
  16. I cancelled it and ill do it next week, its not worth the hassel argueing with the hire company or trashing the cliants lawn.
  17. Ive got an avent out on hire today for clearing up brash on a grass paddock type area and it has rained all night. Has anyone used this type of machine on wet ground with any luck before, had a bobcat on wet ground and it was useless! Any help would be good as ive got 20min to cancell it for today. Thants
