    Jokes???

blonde's car breaks down so she calls aa 2mins after aa man arrives car is fixed. That was quick said the blonde. Yep just crap in the carb says AA man. Great....and often do I do that...
  2. I always have a box of refresher bars (chew with sherbert in middle) in the office.Prefer strawberry flavor. There's 60 in a box and I just went for one and there's only four left. The kids have sussed my new hiding place. The file marked jobs to do,There's now't else to put in it...lol
  3. most get sold to the local farm shop at £2.50 a brace, 1 for the ferret's and 2 for the pot. Slow cooker with onion, hint of garlic, carrot (well bunnies like them), salt pepper, mixed bouquet half bottle of white top up with some chicken stock. 5hrs and enjoy.........ohh and tell the wife and daughter it's chicken chassiuer.
  4. My sons foal "Treacle" (3mths old). Tripped in one of their little hidy holes and broke its hip and had to be shot. He dug the hole himself with the Bobcat 360 and buried it. Well he tried to but with all the water it kept floating back up..hehe no should'nt laught.....so he really enjoyed getting some revenge on the poor little bunnies.
  5. "Inonotus hispidus is the most frequent decay fungus in Fraxinus ex (Ash)" Quote from Lonsdale,Priciples of tree hazard assesment and management. Cause of white rot, results in brittle fracture. weakens Ash wood at early stage and it's presence often indicates that breakage ot the affected branch or trunk is imminent. Fruit bodies can appear May to Feb,but can often be found all year after they die off (Black). Often find them on the ground around tree. I have found that the diameter of the fruit often matches the diameter of the decayed area within the wood. We often recommend felling depending on targets or at the very least heavy reduction. Hope that helps abit
  6. While were on the scrounge..I could do with a copy of Bs 5837 2005 if anyone can help?
  7. Back in the 90's we were supplying 6" chippers and 1 operator for the M1 link up in yorks /lancs just for chipping hedges that were coming out.We charged £150 day for chipper and £85 day for operator at 1 point we had over 30 machines and men per day out there (every body with a chipper within 50miles lol) and it lasted for over 6 weeks. The contractor then put 4 brash rats at £40/day with each machine, that how they made it work. One man feeding a chipper is U/S especially for hrs. Now the Mog & 10" chipper and 2 men go out at £450 day. Like someone else said, just because your gears paid for, don't sell your self cheap. With your set up £250-£280 seems about right.
  8. went out at 12 got back 4pm. 16 bunnies in the bag from to warrens. one good male and a young female ferret and never picked the spade up once, apart from the gutting hole
  9. Took my lad out for his first day with the ferret's. Did'nt think he would get stuck in as easy...but anything to do with knife's

  12. Agree with all thats been said. Last gale we were called to a silver birch that was uprooting and there was a very nice green house under it. The insurance co said let it fall and then we will pay, if you climb it and make safe you pay for the greenhouse or any damage. The customer let the tree fall,we cleared it and she paid us. When she tried to get her money back they said NO,if the tree had been checked they would have noticed the fungus bracket and root rot.Not an act of god and she contributed to the tree failing. I checked with our PL insurance,If we had tried to make the tree safe and hit the greenhouse they would not have paid out. That would not have been an acceptable risk,PL is for accidental damage. Sometimes we just get stuck in the middle.
  13. What happened did the copper fall over them whilst off duty at a car boot. I mean catching scum whilst on duty...haha. Like you say he will probably get off with naf all.might get a few hours un paid work with the local council arb lads so he can spanner up his next victim. Like someone else said ring the Insurance co and make them a silly offer, they will just want rid of them.
  14. Ditto... and hopefully they had a good few well deserved beers afterwards whilst discussing "don't know what we was moaning about, it wer'nt that bad and we got the cheque"....
  15. Have you tried...bog roll holders a cereal box and some sticky back plastic...lol Seriously I'd go for the ply. Could you not use Marine ply...won't that help with the moisture probs. But the alloy sounds like it would look the dogs dangly bits
  16. Hope that was per day...lol, it would still have been a decent price.
  17. Surely they are good for everybody. Steve gets some financial help in running the board. We get something for free with some fantastic debate. The advertiser's know their bucks are well spent,People here are their target customer and the ads are in front of you 24/7 not just in the back of a glossy mag that gets read once a month. But best of all,we can moan about which saw/chipper is best or worst, prices etc and they get an instant chance to answer and or take that info back to the manufacture.
  18. I bet dragging and carrying was fun. Makes a change to see disc's cut to a size that you don't have to have the Hulk working for you. It's jobs like this that show just how good people are in this game. Would like to see the "knock on the door boys" price it. Errr sorry missus my big saw's in the repair shop.
  19. It's a Duo 200 then.(RRP was around £16k)If he can get an engine in for around a grand then he should ££'s in. We run a 200 & a 235(61hp) as well the mog and Farmi. Yorkshireman off here runs 2 if not 3 of the Chip 200's. Some people love them some hate them, but that can be said for most makes, just look at some of the comments on this thread. The shredder feed on the Duo can be a pain if mainly private tree work your doing, best thing is to take hopper off a fit a blanking plate. Overall they do the job, strong build and usually (lol) one of the better engines.
  20. If thats all he paid, it could be a 135 duo with the 2cyl 27hp,(made in 2004 but sold in 2005) was the egine knacked when he bought it?
  21. If it's a 05 machine it is probably a 200 duo,8" chipper with the 40 hp Deutz. They stopped making the 6" duo in 2004. very unusual for the engine to pack in. There is a company near preston that will referb the engine for around a grand. As to the value, should be around £6k -£9k but would think most buyers would be worried about the rest of the machine's condition once they heard about the engine.
  22. There's another thread on here about old time tree surgeons. Go back twenty yrs and more than likely you would be stacking brash on a tranny or a landy trailer. Then we had Micheal D and his gravity feed 6" ARBOREATER £8k and the best thing since sliced bread, till I had a demo from Nick Rivett and his BANDIT....wow what a piece of kit but HOW MUCH...so I bought a 620 vermeer roller feed, smoking petrol engine for £2k...if engine knacked I could get a new one for a few hundred...lasted me 4 yrs and I sold it for £3k...then came the new Ram 6" for £6k..fantastic machine so I started selling them to my mates. Moved to a Mog and a farmi 10", still have the same set up today but a little newer. In between I got involved with Landforce and sold a few more to my mates. When they packed in I bought all the stock and parts. Not a bad machine for the money and there's lots of guys like them and a lot that hates them. Have used them all, love the TP and Sliesinger (can never spell that). Used the Greenmech and it did the job. Overall you spend your money and take a chance or go back to stacking brash on trailers. I have found it's not always the machine, a lot of people tend to buy off the person who is selling. A bit of trust and help goes a long way.Any chipper is good, when it is working and any of them can and will break down. My advice, buy what you can afford, It's not what you sell it for that counts, it's what you pay for it.
