  1. for the o rig i find a little prussic works better than the ropeman, the ropeman can slide out of reach
  2. slick taylor, slick. cheers
  3. it smells like your dog paid a visit too........
  4. not sure about the whole of nz but it is around auckland parks around this time of year. always living on the mulch, normally at the base of oak trees.and your boots whilst climbing:(
  5. the core is there just to keep the rope round, it has very little to do with the strength of the rope, so removing it is no issue bro
  6. it works better if you remove the core and insert a bungy, wire etc bro... 16 strand is easier to splice with the core removed
  7. might of posted these before but its that time of year so i thought id put some new ones up, living on the mulch at the base of oak and liquidamber. they absolutely stink....
  8. nah ian, good on ya mate. with winter coming on, the office will seem like a nice place on a lot of days, im sure youll find time to do a lot of climbing inspections, bracing etc....
  9. yeah that why i changed from mine, really like the ringloop as it just feels bombproof. if i ever get round to it ill put an eye on the globe and see if it stop falling off. send it up bro, ill look after it.............

haha cheers mate-its only expensive if you purposefully buy the components, ahem.
  16. hey bro, if a ropes breaking point(MBS) is 3800kg then its safe working load(SWL) using 10:1 is 380kg. i think this is why we use 22kN as a minimum. 2200kg(22kN approx) mbs gives a swl of 220kg-therefore can take 2 climbers plus gear in an emergency situation ie rescue and allows for cycles to failure.i think.

  18. nice work bro
  19. hmmm maybe a tiny bit but nothing that im at all bothered about!!!!
  20. Yeah I find it does, the hitch only sits back maybe 1 inch and never sits below my spliced eye- pretty sure I got the idea from DsMC ho used it when not using a spliced rope. I've found it limits the twisting in the rope too, I think this is because o the slight kink it causes before it runs into the hc but other friends have found it to make no difference. The vt always grabs as it doesn't get the chance to totally open up and juststay open. It takes a while together the hitch set so the ring stays sat inthe middle, but I've settled on this amount of wraps braids etc. Doesn't work with a long open vt as the ring just flops to the side.
  21. Cheers rupe
  22. this is what i use bro for splicing everything from 6mm globe to 20mm rigging lines. welding wire bent to fit onto a carabiner-looks rubbish but works damn well. and also the fid i use, i think its an old ice pick that slowly bent itself into the shape that works for me
  23. this is mine at the moment mr b.. the ring limits sitback of the hitch.
  24. hey bro, i still cant go past the vt and hc. i keep switching from ap and op and using tachyon. The helical is a damn good knot and i think it would work really well with the small pinto, not so with the hc as its single legged. ive tried the spiderjack but tbh im not really wanting to change from hitch cord as i love the versatility.
  25. shot from the back.. and undone:001_smile:
