  4. I dont find the stretch-air tops as breathable as cool max or the nike dri-fits. they do wear well though. is there just one type of stretch-air t shirt?
  5. its a must ian. That pic if the start of the grand traverse over the remarkables range, not really possible to do now as it was all snow covered the day after i did it.2000m drop next to where im stood.Dont think i could live in q town due to the transient nature of everyone and its also real expensive. BUT its gob smacking views over the lake and surrounding ranges make up for it. Theres jobs going down there if people want to work, queenstown and wanaka.
  6. A cple of snaps from last week, working in queenstown. its a rather pretty place:001_smile:
  7. heres a few bro spliced to a prssic. used as part of srt. when you get to the top, remove the ascenders as use it as a rope guide (ignore the tenex coming off the hand ascender). witha revolver of the becket-i prefer using the webbing as it seems to stop the rope wrapping round each other. adding a backup anchor by putting a ringloop(?) on. prussic onto access line, stopper knot at tail of access line. srt line runs to the becket. again the prussic keeps the carabiners away from the rope. climbing line pre installed through pinto. hc clipped to gear bag on the ground. your tail runs through it and tied to you.you clip onto srt line as normal ascent. clip your dbrt system to you and ascend. as you srt up you self tend the dbrt system so you can descend/switch over during the ascent. Does that make sense? in abit of a rush........
  8. Hopefully get time this arvo to post some pics of some stuff bro, but yeah 8mm ap but basically the same rg/ inline anchor.
  9. That's the problem with splicing onto my pinto, I can't try that any more!!
  10. this is what we need them for:001_smile: this is a copyrighted pic by the way, courtesy of Bradley Ambrose.
  11. 7.4m aftershock hit nr miyagi this morning. They are getting nailed, cannot comprehend what it must be like. The first quake there was 8000x stronger than what hit Christchurch.
  12. When I'm allowed to say I will Ian! Always gotta remember though that the plug can be pulled t anytime if a natural disaster happens somewhere in the world- as seems to be happening at the moment:(
  13. yes mate, next trip is looming but this time were doing it witha bigger budget. its been called off a heap of times so far due to chch quake, jap quake, tsunamis, flooding etc.. but we now have a date sorted (kind of) and financial backing. 2ks of static rope is now awaiting us in port vila, but still the biggest issue is ascending out with the heat suit, oxygen etc.. hence the powered ascenders. Its all good though but i will miss the worlds in sydney which is a bummer. If the plan works we will be................ cant say too much at this stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. military spec only! cannot get them for love nor money. well we cant anyway and weve tried:thumbdown:
  15. just spoke to the actsafe people, the battery one wont be any good for us but the 4 stroke version looks like it might be a goer.
  16. $4800 australian each.
  17. Cheers bro, thats what we are after. anymore?? now to find out how much they cost.....
  18. Hey guys, need some help. We need 2 motorised ascenders and are having no luck with getting hold of wraptors-are there any others that are available? they need to be able to run 10mm static rope and ideally be able to ascend with at least 400m of rope below them, if not there are ways round the rope weight issue. Price isnt too much of a concern but of course cant be crazy. Tried getting the Atlas devices but again no luck-thinking they are military spec and not available to the public. any help is very much appreciated and needed:thumbup:
  19. Yeah I think so bro, I'm in a motel with crap wifi so not able to watch the vid in whole but it Looks like the one. Cheers Tommy, nice one bro.
  20. Saw a really good vid of a guy from India that got himself out of poverty by watching monkeys climb and copying. I can't remember the link but it's amazing to watch, and yes he's now not living in poverty. If anyone finds it on YouTube, post the link if poss. Cheers.
  21. Once I get home in a cple of days bro I will but I'm sure someone will do it first. I think Taylor goes over it inhis pinto video.
  22. Doing a large conifer dismantle today and clipping a revolver onto the pinto really saved the arms. It's a great little trick but eats a huge amount of rope, my 50m was nowhere near long enough to go anywhere near the bottom of the tree.
  23. Mogley, is the regular pinto fir a 13mmrope? Will the small retrieval ball go through it? I'm still away bro do haven't seen oneyet. Does the treemagineers pulley sver use the rig or standard? Chur bruv
  24. Nice one mark, stoked for ya bro
