  1. That souds like Dick Leigh's Is it ?
  2. That was a little hidden gem
  3. I had a good day, didnt think the entrance price3 was that bad as all shows that you go to are not cheap to get into... I thought the food situation was awful and really let the APF down, almost like somebody had forgot to do the job and had a quick ring around at the last moment.... I dont mind paying £4.50 for a burger at one of these do's for a burger but you can get a local company with decent quality locally sourced food to sell at the same price, even have those people who roast a whole pig onsite... Please next time APF committee dont feed us worse than dog food.... It was good to see some people and put names to faces on here and had a good time spending some money on mapping software and a few other bits, saved a few £'s as well... Was a little disapointed in Honey Brothers as they have told us they are rectifying there high prices, i dont think this materialised at the show but hey they are a biggish company and it takes time...... The funny thing about the show was the blatent difference between foresters and arborists at the show - you can really tell the difference as they walk around Overall a good APF just let down by the food.....
  4. I spoke to a very well respected industry professional last night and he highly reccomended them. I will be calling them this morning for a chat..
  5. On a serious note i may know a contractor, i am speaking to him on thursday and will pm you his details if he is interested, i guess you have a pre 97 driving licence which is a massive plus.....
  6. I need a tea boy, only problem is its a hell of a commute to cumbria and minimum wage probably wouldnt cover your fuel bills.....
  7. Yes in short, the tree is not to far gone, what i try to explain to people is that most of the time you wont cure the tree but are infact treating an illness to prolong life.
  8. I see he uses terravent, more and more people are turning there backs on it, it doesnt offer a tenth of the quality of radial trenching, i have used in the past and did not rate it one bit - looks the part but fails to deliver imo ......
  9. I will post some in the near future, i am trying to piece together my own research, its quite hard when you havent got the budjets of the big boys
  10. Not yourself, the artists or what ever they wish to be known as this month...
  11. Ive done some work there recently on trees with bat roosts in - nice place and interesting tree work
  12. Why a 200 year old oak though, there are so many syc's they could have had and most people havent got a clue what one tree is from another....
  13. We have been doing that for 2 years now, had some great results
  14. Probably wasnt considered - typical selfish outlook they have
  15. Was the tree healthy ?
  16. Beer Tent 7 am
  17. Stand away from the tree and look at it and imagine where the reduction will be going to, its amazing how you will remember it in the tree, it should almost work naturally for you... If you are concerned about the amount of reduction then imo that is a good omen for you as a future arborist, 50% is way to much esp for a HC, you might as well remove it.... Is your boss decent can you voice your concerns without him being a turd back.... Your boss should give you the 200t to use as he is obvisouly way more experienced than yourself. You are right about using your silky and size of parts to be removed again this shows that if you are taking off bigger limbs that is too much...
  18. PM me your dates and exactly what you want and i will give you a quote....
  19. dont agree there, dont want to look to flash and scare the punters away

  21. We add these to certain jobs if they merit it, also you have got to take budgets and what the client wants.....
  22. There are a couple of sites really close, i am thinking of staying there as they are within walking distance which = drinky drinky..... Will post the details 2morrow.
