  1. Hi, I'm based in Bolton, have cs30, 31 and 38 and all my own kit. Ready to work now, have own transport and pre 97 driving licence, please PM me with more details, cheers, Phil.
  2. indeed it was, the kids club ran from Eagley cricket club down at Dunscar, you know it?
  3. passed in 1993, get in, can drive them big old things without government sillyness.................
  4. did the tea boy thing a while ago, the distance is now a bit of a problem but I have an affordable diesel and if things get really rough I'll keep you in mind, how many milks and sugars sir?
  5. Hello Arbtalk, Allow me to introduce myself in a longwinded and possibly painful way, then see me beg for a job, if you stay with me through this awful diatribe I give my thanks.......... After 10 years of running an out of school club in Bolton I have made the natural progression of attempting to be a tree surgeon in Buckinghamshire, I’m sure you can see the way childcare in the North West morphs perfectly into tree work in the Home Counties? Maybe moving down because of a fine lady had some influence.....? I now have 33 years under my belt so think I know a thing or two but I’m always eager to learn a few new tricks, I have 10 years experience of running my own company, which was pretty successful and involved managing ten members of staff, I’m a generally ‘handy’ sort of fella with many a string to the old bow and pick up the practical things in life very quickly. I have recently completed CS30, CS31 and CS38 with Treevolution in North Wales and passed in fine form, I paid for my own training and assessments, I wanted to do CS39 too but have, to keep it short, run out of cash! I have no problem with putting myself through this when some more money finds me and don’t think I will struggle to pass.....? I have all my own PPE, full climbing kit with LOLER inspection record, an MS 260 chainsaw, various Silky saws, etc.... I am obviously a bit short on experience but have put plenty of climbing practice in (I’ve put myself up a fair few rock faces, crags and bloody big mountains in the Himalayas in my time so this has not been too much of a shock) and spent the past couple of months sorting out some errant woodland behind my old folks place that was a right old mess and which nobody seemed to mind me sorting out for free! I have also been a Bushcraft and outdoor survival instructor with Tamarack Outdoors in the very recent past (feel free to check out their fine website) which has included a reasonable amount of the ol’ tree game as an integral part of its make up, Mike Rushton of Tamarack is a well respected NTPC instructor/assessor and has taught me a great deal over the years. Enough waffle, lets get to the point. I have just moved to Princes Risborough, have a clean driving license, many years experience of driving vans, the necessary NTPC qualifications to get started, all the kit but no job, I would like a job, this is where you might come in????? If you read this and think ‘this ‘ere fella could be just what we need, lets take him on and pay him lots of money’ I would be surprised yet very grateful for the job you offer me..... If, which is probably more likely, you can put a few suggestions my way that might point me in the right direction that would be splendid and probably more realistic!? I don’t mind a bit of travel to work if need be. Over the past few months I have been doing some small tree jobs, a bit of landscaping, putting a fair bit of decking down, fitted a couple of kitchens, fixed or replaced the odd garage roof, done a cellar conversion, knocked a few sheds into being, some general gardening and the errant woodland project. It appears I could fill my days doing this for a lot longer as the work pours in but I have a genuine desire to get involved in the Arb industry, I have a decent knowledge base of tree identification and plan to take an Arb qualification at some point soon when I know what my employment situation is. Any positive feedback will be greatly received, any slander will be taken with grace but ignored, any job offers would be lovely, a few phone numbers or names to try will suffice. If you have made it thus far I did warn you right at the start it might be painful and longwinded so I believe it is now your own fault for reading on and will accept no claims for time wasted if any are forthcoming? I don’t mind a bit of hard work, think my communication skills are pretty well honed, have my fair share of common sense and understand the whole teamwork thing, although my actual tree work dossier is fairly sparse I am pretty confident I can learn fast and be an effective employee in a not too expensive to you timeframe. OK, all done, I’ve begged, gone on with the patter and done just what the title suggested, I hope to work with or for you soon.............. Phil.
