  3. certainly dirty ropes will wear out the clutch faster but a dirty rope will wear cord as well
  4. shame you have to run the new grinder through all that mud:blushing:
  5. we use them both and use them in the rain no problems cord is even more jerky and unpredictable and slips in the wet get one and you will love it and if not sell it:thumbup:
  6. Need 4 good quality ones for local scouts for events ect not cheap nastys any links and advice appreciated
  7. what do you reckon to the effectiveness of stihls comfort chain re vib levels and are oregon doing anything similar??????
  8. tbh thats what put me off using a strop but in general i reckon strops are better and if concerns i reckon there are different ways to do things i have heard of 2 cases where strop has seriously hurt lads but no concrete proof to back it up sorry
  9. sometimes left handed:blushing: what about 2 ropes not a criticism just an observation i used to only use my rope but have made a concious effort to put another one on after meeting a lad that wished he had had 2 tbh i find it adds very little time as i can usually cut faster if stropped on:thumbup:
  10. but will you not end up with still having the gunky bits in the bottom looks good though does it not leave a fair bit in or does it get it all
  11. What you could do with is finding someone local that can splice and show you all the little bits that make it so much easier and have a look at the bought kit and bit,s and bobs they have adapted. I am sure you will know someone:confused1:
  12. cheers kev:thumbup:
  13. can be used for lifting but needs inspecting under PUWER and the easiest way is to have it inspected under loler although as a point a NPTC or equivalent Loler guy is not competent to inspect a tirfor some engineering knowledge required and a way of proof testing to a given load or pull or so i am told
  14. lifts or holds a load:thumbup: should not be used for people even the 3 point linkage should be covered under loler though 12 months loler is not just for people take a rigging kit for example
  15. were they from mewps looking good if they were:thumbup:
  16. so be a gardener thats the upshot sorry if it sounds harsh but crack on
  17. yep i got one and the art one no comparison but the treemagineers is better than a normal saver imo wish i had bought the longest and only criticism is too much sheath movement or the core is too thin
  18. was it the one at the bottom of the last pis that you reduced:confused1:
  19. looks more like soil and mud to me:confused1:
  20. beal stuff usually comes with stitched eyes which tells you a lot:thumbup: certainly not a rope to learn splicing
  21. but where is bobs bits:thumbup: nice by the way
  22. bigger toolbox and loads of hammers should come as standard with a landy:thumbup:
  23. you can be skilled at any job imo but generally you need to HAVE either an apprenticeship or formal training to be skilled i am semi most of the time:blushing:
  24. get them logs split:thumbup:
  25. wouldn't bother it shut about a year ago:blushing:
