  3. Looking to go for a bigger pickup so not overloaded Anyone know what there actual legal capacity is that they have. Looking new Isuzu or canter type things but open to suggestions Just don't want to still end up getting it too big and heavy so can't legally carry enough logs and chip. Am I been unrealistic to expect 3 ton minimum payload? Can I get 4

  8. agreed you need to do c then E to be able to tow as just looked into this. as a point do not do C1 which is 7.5t you may as well do C which is up to 18T very very similar and barely a difference in price ultimately C1 is only there for pre 97 licences that got the rights as been old rights

    Chainsaw bowl

Used one that someone else on here recommended but can't remember what it's called Had a few bubbles initially but warmed a bit with blowtorch and they soon came out If it's set tomorrow plan on chucking it back on the lathe but may leave a few days.
  11. Well hopefully❤️
  12. You can have a look anytime you want It's not really a book you read it's more a look things up At least that's what I got it for
  13. Cheers The garden law one is not truly my definition Is it not offer the branches back? Cheers for the offer Gary but I have a copy though if you would like to come over and explain all those long words that would be great:thumbup:
  14. Where do I find a link to the definitive on removing overhanging branches and cutting back roots to boundary . Seem to find a lot of contradictory info on searches
  15. I would imagine most of the cost is in the pit and sorting services rather the price of the tree I.e a tree in a street planter box ends up approx £600 and only £100 for tree At least last one I did cost that with the price of planter soil and fixings and labour So can easily see 1k in streetworks and proper pit preparation But yet again likely a minescule part of the full costs of the scheme
  16. When I first started 27 yrs ago I used a hand ascender and it's a long time since I got my first foot ascender Admittedly changed a lot over the yrs Rope access and covers certainly had a big input As part of those it certainly brought me on.
  17. We like the shizl one but think ours is 12 mm
  18. Interestingly I am converted to containerised and gone of bare rooted Still not a fan of root balled as n the hessian and wire type as found they are often bare rooted with a bit of soil and not established in the ball Mainly get from a supplier in Suffolk that specialise in quality trees and found the tree form better and less hassle storing transporting and keeping stored and healed in.
  19. Nice post
  20. I do take exception to the dig at local authority and big company's as generally they are tied to a set working day and I have found the crash it out and go home early are the smaller company's .. .???? In my experience there has been less pressure to get the job done within budget and the only bad accident (that I recall) I have ever had due to underpricing was a badly underpriced private job that was badly staffed and way way way underpriced and we did not have another spare day to finish it.. Which is generally not the issue for bigger company's I have seen a lot more understaffed and no signs cones ect and no exclusion jobs from little firms than the bigger ones Good points though:confused1:
  21. The brighter and more garish mix of colours also helps and as said quality is not cheap But just remember your going to need beer tokens and get your priorities right.
  22. Glad filming on phones ect was not common when I started No one even barely had a phone:blushing: I would like to see a factual investigation and a lot more background info such as why when and how And pics ect of the stumps Certainly looks like a few issues that when added together culminated in potentially a nastier ending Hope we all discus with our colleagues to try to prevent similar potential occurrences
  23. Wonder if they had coms as didn't see how driver knew when to pull Brave fell in that wind though Having said that I was not there
  24. It's one of the massive problems with tractors 1 key fits them all We had our yard done over and don't think they would of got anything till they started the tractor and smashed their way out of the yard Left the tractor but nicked other vehicles Now got additional immobilisers
  25. Mine that says Oregon is 56 links so now I really am confused:confused1:
