  2. after friday not using it for a couple of weeks if you fancy having a borrow imo spiderjacks and lockjacks are too expensive to find you dont like them
  3. i prefer the spider over the lockjack i have been using it for a couple of months now and my new one that came last week now has some sand paper type stuff on the thumb bit which does seem a little better
  4. i have used everthing i have ever come across and am using the spider at the moment and after a couple of months have tweeked the system to one i prefere over the lockjack though every system has some drawbacks which is why imo you may need different systems for different trees and fast desents must be a concern for some as well as good fun

    rigging SWL

for how long this thread has been on i have been supprised by the lack of responses however i am not shocked as the impreshion i get is that this is another thing that is not really bothered about. I run my lowering ropes at a different swl to that of othere and would mark someone elses kit different. i was looking into this and found guidlines ranging from 3-1 to 16-1 and even found the supplier for my latest rope giving a swl of 4-1 on there website also i have a rigging software disc that seems to pass a safe system on 3-1. how many of you even know the breaking strain never mind safe working load or impact forces, angle loading ect ect that affect your rope strengh
  6. how would you improvise for this then and do you always carry your tool box 10 ft from where you are i recon even if so how would you carry it up the tree come on get a first aid kit and be responsible
  7. what would you do if you came to rescue me go and get a first aid kit from the landrover half a mile away or come straight away upto me and either use mine or the one you should have on your harness
  8. if you want to pay me £60 per hour i will do it naked
