  2. ha, yep he sure is, i wrecked my climber bar up that tree, a lump snatched my saw and bent the bar big style, the rope isn't a proper pulling rope, just a old climbing rope, you know where i work so no surprise there lol
  3. Another big beech stump in mid fell my work buddy doing the cutting, im in the tractor getting ready to pull it over
  4. i didnt think i was worth anything at the company im in, however this week i got a dam good pay rise, some new climbing kit, a new husky ground saw and a pick of what team to be in starting this monday, cant grumble
  5. i fancy retraining in welding and fabrication, im 30 next month and dont want to be climbiing forever
  6. last time i was at your yard doing the powerlines your dad came over for a yap, he was doing a log display for as shop if i remember correctly. ive been doing the tree thing nearly 2 years, alot better than i was at the start but still have alot to learn
  7. I use Secateurs, Silky and loppers quite alot, infact ill be using them most of tomorrow, 2 jobs 4 trees to reduce and shape, then of to Girvan ( Ayrshire ) to start a massive job, remove 100 ish trees for a new Scottish Power substation

  11. lol, we do domestic to, im doing all the domestic jobs with 2 other guys, and a little bit of utiltiy work, we also have teams that do fencing, digger work, grass cutting, sub stations, utility, firewood, imries has his hands in at everything, if the price is rite he will do it lol

  16. ive got 3 different sites within 5 mins of our yard, seen 2 transit tippers full of branches parked up at 2 of the sites, my saws are going everywere with me till there gone!
  17. in the pics without a life line i wasnt to high from the ground, in the pics where im high its tied up and hanging to the back of my harness, as for the saw and helmet there supplied by my employer that thinks the rules and regulations dont apply
  18. all i can find just now, got a 120ft douglas fir coming up soon, so will take more pics

  21. Not had any myself, though i have witnessed someone cutting there rope and droping a ms200t from 40ish feet
  22. I know very little about pruning, but apart from the birch looking bad, it aslo looks wrong...
  23. Evening all. Everything is going good, going at my own pace and not been asked to do anything dodgy or out of my skill level. Took down 6 leyandi yesterday whilst it was snowing. Todays job was a crown reduction on 3 horse chestnut's and dissmantle of a rather large conifer ( dont know the species ), ill be back at the same job tomorrow to take of a few branches over-hanging the road, one of the trees is a huge oak, its a simple job so im gonna ask to do the climbing
