  1. Turns out the scrotes who robbed us yesterday evening were probably still onsite when the police were called but didn't bother responding. My business partner went one-way looking but they found tracks the other way... It is probably lucky they didn't meet as the outcome of tackling 3 blokes nicking your property is unlikely to be a good one..
  2. We had a visit from three scroates yesterday evening at around 1815. They helped themselves to a, nearly new pressure washer, brand new stihl multi tool, matika electric drill with ecoplug bit, mountain bike and other items. Please look out for these items and pass on any information. I will add the arb stuff to the list. The stuff was noticed missing about 15 mins after it was taken as cameras were checked, we called the police who could not even visit... A team went searching for them but no one was found... Thanks
  3. You might be able to buy a small business for that money. I have heard of a couple of firms recently who have given up the tree game, but could not find a buyer for their businesses... Do not underestimate how long it takes to build a good reputation.. and I am in the buy truck (definitely) and chipper (possibly) after depreciation hit camp... A new tree truck will look like an old one in a matter of weeks...
  4. We cleared a site last year, they had a specialist crew in first to do a search, but they missed loads, I supplied the guys with sharps gloves and a litter picker so they could be put in a bucket without handling..
  5. As a comparison we sometimes use an 18 wheel grab wagon to pick up logs and once for clearing a traveller site.. That was £240 for a mixed load but includes loading and local pick up. I think it would be great to have a big bin to chuck logs or chip into but as we sell all our chip, and have plenty of space to store it, I would be looking at the time saving aspect as apposed to the waste disposal and therefore it would need to be pretty cheap..
  6. Dropping off a big roro skip could be really useful on some jobs..
  7. The GRCS needs a nice flat place to mount on...
  8. Not sure if things have changed since we did it.. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arb-trucks/24186-operator-licences-again.html
  9. If you take the biological view chickens have used humans to become the most successful bird species ever.
  10. It's been on a while because it is over priced IMO.. They are old machines, I have seen them on ebay for the £2k mark.. I emailed him in November and this was his reply: Mini loader mini cadCompact loader with an unbelievable lift capability for the dimensions of the machine 36 in width will lift about 500 kilograms. Fully restored machine last year has been used and enjoyed and did exactly what it was intended for. Reconditioned Yamnar Diesel engine single cylinder 25 horsepower. Little smoky at full revs or under heavy load would benefit from a new exhaust arrangement never bothered me enough to change it. The exhaust is straight through no baffles. Fully sand blasted and resprayed body as you can see in the pictures has been used so it's not perfect but not close to being perfect few little mark I'm being honest. New pump new pipes new ram seals all the oily stuff is perfect small leak from the pressure release value when the machine gets hot very minimum and after the machine has been used for a long time. Machine come with a bucket and a set of forks. Very versatile and usable little machine would be ideal for a landscaper or tree surgeon or a small holding. Many applications use your imagination. You will struggle to find another one in the uk very unique machine unbelievable value for a mini skid steer. It's competitors new are close to 30k essentially this will do the same job it's just not as polished. Please let me know if you need any more information or would like to arrange a viewing or demonstration please contact by emails through eBay. Please don't waste your time making me stupid offers. This one disappeared before the end of the auction.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hatz-Diesel-Skid-Steer/253262155394?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  11. How many regular users are there, who joined back in 2007?
  12. Cheers, I ordered a draper one but it arrived without the cable or handle so that went back... Have ordered an ACE one.. We generally use the GRCS.. a truck, or a tractor...
  13. Cheers that looks exactly the same as the draper...
  14. We could do with having a hand winch in our tool kit.. I don't want to spend the earth as we have got by without a dedicated unit for years.. The tirfors are the standard but I am not sure I want to spend £400+ for a tool that is not often used.. The Draper is about half the price is it any good? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-71208-Wire-Hoist-Winch/dp/B00023T9OI Any others to consider?
  15. If it's not on strava it didn't happen! I am not overly competitive and ride with guys who are way stronger then me and have friends who are much better runners and swimmers. But I still love strava, I see what my mates are doing, leave comments and that can inspire me but I only really compete against myself..
  16. I started putting on weight when I stopped climbing.. I could never been bothered with the gym as I am to lazy.. I have found running and cycling helps keep the waist line down.. It is difficult to stay motivated, cycling is good if you go out with a group and I am trying to do a couple of events a year, preferably something that will scare me... A half Ironman a few years back (I was terrified about drowning), marathon (goal to be sub 4 hrs), etape in the summer (stage in the tour de France 160 miles 2 huge climbs, being chased by a broom wagon if your too slow..). I have an off road marathon and a night marathon this spring.. I am still surprised by how my physique has changed and on the rare occasions I go to site I am very careful not to try and lift big bits of wood..
  17. I pulled my hamstring running over a year ago. Not bad but it still is not better.. I have got a support that helps..but I need to go to a sports physio..
  18. New Roads & Street Works, Signing, Lighting and Guarding (Unit 2 & 10)
  19. We did it with https://www.citrustraining.co.uk/. It took one day the lads did the operator and the managers the supervisor, both at the same time in the same classroom.. A more boring day I cannot remember....
  20. many cycle paths are not fit for purpose. . Designed by numpties and often dangerous to ride on..
  21. I assume you are the Baz who recently did a day for us.. I will be in touch in the new year..
