  1. Just looked at L Jackson and Co. They got some stock levels! More Hagglunds than you can count! Even got stock of the old Landrover Lightweights!
  2. Misson Missile site is a good spot for ex military. Pre Internet days, I used to drool over their catalogue!
  3. I got to admit that I decided not to get another 3500 for domestic/street treework/fencing etc back in the 90's. Woefully easy to overload, even 7500 trucks could be easy if a big chip body fitted!
  4. I have to confess that I use street view quite intensively! Fascinating way of being inquisitive or nosey!
  5. How often and how much time do you spend researching? I reckon it is a fascinating subject - because we never lived near our relatives, I don't have much connection with mine and barely know my cousins etc and know precious little about family history!
  6. Jeez, pretty awesome! An horror stories or good news stories?
  7. GreenMech buy the 4x4 Crewcabs over three years and try to keep for 4. Pandemic and the economy means that these are 5 now and we do run the risk of something awfully expensive happening! Mine has a right whine which doesn't change under lateral or engine load and now has the EML on and might be AdBlue related... I kept an Isuzu Rodeo 3ltr for 5 years and did 265k miles and she was reliable.
  8. My Ranger did 46k last year, quite often towing..... It averaged 21.9 mpg over 135 tanks with a high of just 30mpg and a low of 14mpg! That's over £15k in fuel!
  9. I was told by another owner that the rear loom is susceptible to problems.
  10. Bugger me! Put 20ltrs in about 1200 miles back and today the EML comes on, ablue service required! Damn!
  11. To see who was on the grassy knoll. To say "No ta" to the ex. To say "Yes please" to my mate Dave's sister...
  12. Went to Loughborough today and the grass around some council flats has been freshly mowed! Anyone else mowing this late?
  13. Google some of the odd things on Google Earth, odd buildings, planes flying/landing/crashing, crop circles and other bizarre stuff! Can waste endless hours doing that!
  14. If the oil level rises, the previously mentioned stain test is good but I would also consider the hydraulic system. Is there an oil pump driven off the timing chain in the engine? Have you an engine mounted hydraulic pump? It may be that the seals in this are poor and leaking hydraulic oil in to the pan. What colour is your hydraulic oil? If is darker than previous, then engine oil may be getting through the seal in the pump as they mix.

    Jokes???

Got it! Is that Morrison's in Coalville?
  16. Once walked away from an OHL crossing a railway job as the access along the gardens backing meant several gardens where owners had lobbed waste over the boundary to the trees and shrubs. Vile people!

    Jokes???

Ditto! Could it be air out of the spare?
  18. Police rang this morning. She had been allocated the case to investigate and would approach the council and 4 local businesses to ask if they can view the CCTV....... One supplier of trackers admitted that thiefs can obtain a device which jams signals and identifies if the kit is fitted with any devices at all! I visited a Rail contractor in Chesterfield and they had a tracked chipper and trailer stolen from a 24hr manned, secure yard! Someone told me a story about a Mercedes-Benz dealer who lost a load of new cars, later discovering that someone wearing a Dealership branded shirt was walking into the dealership and asking for the keys and papers for certain cars and driving them away!

    Jokes???

Sadly, classed as bullying in the workplace.......
  20. I'd take the risk with that Mick!
  21. Is your ball hitch at the right height? Our Indespension is awful on my Ranger with a low hitch but the two twin axles and the 18ft tri Brian James are ace! I'd rather take take the tri axle anydayvefen though it is a long thing. Well, I would've done if someone hadn't stolen it!
  22. I think demand was not that stumbling block, variation of design and component cost now could be though. 4 plus years back, we were buying 30+ tonnes of sheet steel per month at £350 per tonne. Now, we are paying some £1,200! There is a price which folk will pay for stuff and a price which is too much! That and the often daft regulations that we have to build stuff to, like ensuring people cannot intentionally or unintentionally hurt themselves adds cost yet reduces usability of the product - think nip and pinch or crush points etc.

    Gone mad

Good luck! I've enjoyed several narrow boat holidays and would it again! We used to get the odd moorer on The Soar, at the end of Soar Lane, my yard was at the end. Amazing how the log fairy visited at the same time!
  24. Buffalo in America is enjoying a decent fall of snow, about 6' going by the pictures in today's Telegraph!
  25. I was told that they dropped this to focus on the 240/280.
