  1. The Missus has gone and got a 64plate Evoque. Previously had a BMW Mini and is a named driver on my Disco 4 and covered too on the GreenMech Ranger tow tug. Churchill insure the Disco but decline to quote and it seems that it is expensive to insure - even Saga (she is only just +50) want and eye watering £1900 pa, but then, Saga is a scammy organisation that preys on us oldies! Cheapest so far is £730. Anyone know of a good source of insurance?
  2. Just about to leave the house! Watch out, I'm cold calling flogging chippers!
  3. Raf will enlighten us but he is not available atm!
  4. Got to be honest, we do a bit then go to another job, then refer to Vanguard and do something else with it and get a different set of symptoms. Compound that with a right busy department, and a tad short staffed, it hasn't been an easy, quick fix! I think it has had a lot of new components fitted but probably unnecessarily as Raf and Jason still aren't happy and neither is Vanguard!
  5. Are you sure that the deal is down as HP with deposit and vat up front or is it a lease with no deposit and vat charged monthly? It'll not be yours at the term end without huge balloon payment!
  6. I'm awake and feel a tad tired after three of my elderly fathers half pint Gin and Tonics!
  7. Late night check in! Body clock all a4se about face!
  8. If done right with the right attitude, it can be very lucrative. But, you do have to be aware that there are those out there who will not pay their account, wreck machinery, take or swap parts for their own kit etc. I've a raft of horror stories from the hire trade but the hirers, have, on balance, done well out of things. I would be wary of the "cross hires" to the big nationals as they take too long to pay from what I hear.
  9. Hi Folks, bit of shameless begging on the go here...... In about two weeks, Tom, my son, is off to The States to enter two Drag and Drive events in a car he hasn't driven or seen in the flesh! I have promised a chunk of money for the expenses and ask if there are any other philanthropic "gear heads" who want to buy some sticker space? Is anyone in touch with tree folk in the states who may be interested in advertising on the car - win, loose or draw? HOME | Rocky Mountain Race Week | RMRW WWW.ROCKYMOUNTAINRACEWEEK.COM Rocky Mountain Race Week (RMRW) is the ultimate test of drag racers, competing on different tracks every day for a week! This drag and drive event is one you can not miss! Death Week 2023 — Sick the Mag WWW.SICKTHEMAGAZINE.COM If everything goes well, there will be coverage on various social media platforms and YouTube channels from a variety of folk and he is entered as a driver at Sick Week 2024 in Florida. Sick Week 2024 — Sick the Mag WWW.SICKTHEMAGAZINE.COM Thanks for taking the time to read this. Peter Bagguley
  10. When was each blow off circuit tested? They could be running out of balance or as a previous post alluded too, one pump might be running stronger and a meter heeds to be used!
  11. Never liked the chap. Gave me the "yew tree" shivers....
  12. I did ask if you fitted two x 1505 units, is that classed as 50hp and 8 cylinders or still 25hp at Tier 5? I'd think that the twinny would whizz along but she would be a wide ass model!
  13. Sub 750 still exists in Europe. Also consider costs, the petrol engined units out a fair bit less than the diesel unit!
  14. I always thought that 310nm was a stretch with fine threaded bolts and no Nyloc!
  15. I use them, always have! We got a gadget that also tests them for correctness too! I've got a handful of different units from a couple of lbft upto serious grunt!
  16. Dear woman watched my angst while the rugby was on and passed me this. 5% and gluten free, with a decent taste!

    Jokes???

Why the f did he try to get out! As you say, Darwin did call it!
  18. Get yourself and the Missus up for weekend away to black Isle! Some epic stands of Elm waiting there!
  19. Elm for me! This was the last of 96 huge Elms we had from one parish! This all went for firewood but most of the others went for pitprops with firewood as the cash crop! 1985. Ringed by Stihl 080 and then axed or used circular saw on site.
  20. The other night I cooked a chicken/bacon/leek/tagliatelle thing with a jam jar of carbon nara on one of lasagne white sauce. No apologies for the use of jar sauces!
  21. I have seen a few rubber ducks with fold out legs as well as axle locks and blades for extra stability!
  22. Forage and his bank woes? He is just a customer.....if the bank don't like him and cancel his account, he shouldn't moan, just get on with life and stop trying to get sympathy for being a racist bigot! Banks cannot judge whether they want his business surely?
