  1. Feel a bit crap. Forgot my daughters birthday yesterday- pretty crap with dates etc and we are not close and usually rely on others to remind me, but still feel crap!
  2. Greenmech factory had the tide lapping at the roller shutters when I left and it was still rising! Reckon we will have a muddy floor.....
  3. We try to get somewhere between Plakias and Chora Skafion and enjoy the food and attitude wherever! Sorry to hijack the thread too, but, I've had some epic kebabs, chopped chicken, big white bean in oven and "wtf is this" supper!
  4. Winch and I driving across Southern Crete, I stopped for a pee while she looked at the stars - not much light pollution. I was back in the rental and she exclaimed in surprise at the night sky. I whipped the phone and took this! Bloody rare to catch!
  5. I was a tad surprised that Raki is not 40+ proof! Eased my conscience somewhat having a few carafes in a beachside taverna near Rodakino in Southern Crete! Good for the digestion I'm told!
  6. Decided to keep that for tomorrow when rugby starts! Chicken thighs, coleslaw and jacket instead!
  7. Left over homemade Moussaka later - I get a picture once I've transferred it to the plate.
  8. Back in the day, I ran single, dual and dual rear 4x4 and singles 4x4 and the where all crappie off the road unless dry or the base was good!
  9. Doesn't the mud/grit chafe the inners? Aren't they putting extra stresses through to fhe rims/centres and lugnuts?
  10. Up and away! I got to assist with GreenMech factory tour today. Folk arecamazed at what goes in to make a chipper and all the details that need to be in place in the different departments etc.
  11. Thinking of getting one just to get away for odd weekends in the UK and maybe odd trip abroad. What resource do you use for locating sites and their facilities and prices?
  12. Starmer sprinkled in glitter! 😂🤣😂🤣
  13. Morning. Quick bit of screen time then cold calling again in South Yorkshire - anyone want to buy a chipper?
  14. I tried Adrian Flux as my Hot Rod and Disco were with them but they were over a grand. She has never claimed on a motoring policy but hasn't got proof in bits of paper etc or she was on a family policy where she was not the proposer etc. She has had a load of sheds through life and is rewarding herself for the hard work/crap jobs/poor pay and cheap cars she has had in life. Even though she was a named driver on my Disco 4 for 4 years and could drive the GreenMech tow tug for the last 12 - this matters not a jot! Insurance companies don't even wear a mask when they rob you!!!
  15. A right curved ball has been thrown at this! Got the car, right happy with it but annoyed that, even as old gits, it is a tad dear to insure....heyho, get on with life. Today, she gets an email. As she only has written prove that she can provide of the last insurer over the last three years, they want an additional fee of close on £400!!!! I go to the Swift online site, fill it in with reduced 'Excess' and add me as a named driver and the 3 years proven. The quote comes back at approx £150 more than the original........ Go to the same comparison site I used before and put in the same details (excess, proven and me as a driver) and one is about £230 less than the Swift original price! Bizarrely, I have to have a black box fitted. Otherwise it is about £50 sobs cheaper. I can feel some angry phone calls coming on!

    Jokes???

I tried but it goes to answerphone, anyone got an alternative contact?
  17. Hmmm. As hot water expands, it wants to go somewhere. Some systems have the expansion tanks and others don't- just a loose hose, depends on the radiator cap as to what happens. With the right cap and expansion bottle, the hot water gets in to the tank and as the system cools, it gets back into the radiator. Other systems just pressurise but the cap keeps the pressure in (up to a point) but have a loose hose downwards from the cap to exhaust fluid etc in the event of bother! What engine have you? Is there an expansion tank there? Is it under warranty from your supplier?

    Hoovers

I used to get on with my Dyson. I lost faith in the brand when they moved production abroad and their service side went bad! Shark I've heard is good. Missus has them things called Henry etc - utter shite IMHO!
  19. We have a budget of a kilo per day vat trade shows. Just plain Nicky Lauda's ears!!!
  20. Done that twice and it gets a tad expensive too!
  21. Swift were the cheapest! But, they quoted her more online than me! How does that work? Others who had my business in the past were nearly twice the price or declined to quote! She does small mileage and upped the voluntary excess too!
  22. And 50 sobs to park the van?
  23. I have different dreams than that and cannot roll over in bed!
  24. The advice is, disable it by pressing the lights button three times followed by unlock, or place the key in a Faraday box (available from online retailers) and even consider a steering wheel lock!
  25. Done some digging and a couple of calls later, it transpires that the insurance market is very wary of vehicles which have keyless entry, although, no one could tell me the real difference between a key fob sending a signal at the press of a button or a key fob that interacts with the vehicle without you pressing the button. Actuarial statistics show that these get pinched more than others! The market is awash with Evoques too...... For the record, she has been driven since 87, never claimed and has a clean licence! A comparison site showed some staggering results from 700 upto £4,500! These folk don't even wear a mask when they rob you!
