  5. someone complained that the trees were blocking the sun from their house. i told them that i doubted it. the trees were on teh north side of their property and we all know in teh northern hempishere the sun is on the southern side of the sky. Jamie
  6. well done. now get ready to start the eternal endless drag to the chipper Jamie
  7. a fid length for class 1 fibres is 21x the rope diameter and for class 2 fibres 42x rope diameter. Class 1 is polyester, nylon etc class 2 includes dyneema (spectra), kevlar, vectran technora etc. As a guess i'd say its a class 1 rope (cheaper) and bury 2 fid lengths. back splices dont require such a long bury as they are non load bearing. i only use short fid lengths on my double braids. If you want steve send me it and i'll make it for ya. Jamie
  8. What do you need to climb. harness, i'd say 4 3-way krabs, climbing line, 2 prussics, flip line (pole strop etc) with a prussic, some spikes. the prussic on teh flip line will act as a 'soft link' and can be released under load unlike a rope grab. add more to taste. pullys cambium savers are all extra. Jamie
  9. 3 chains and running them all in conjunction so that tehy all wear at approximatly the smae speed. in reality, when its shagged Jamie
  10. I'm not a royalist by any stretch, but i do think him gong was the right thing to do. I also know litle about the armed forces. If he had sat back and let 'his' men go without him the backlash would have been greater. I have respect for him for that. Private, Officer, rich boy, Poor boy, royal we all die the same when shot. Jamie
  11. i had a minor court case. afterwards i heard nothing. no invoices, till today, tehy sent me a letter to say that tehy had a new helpline:proud: i wont boast too much, i'd like to think that my little blessing goes some of teh way to righting the wrongs of their pricing Jamie
