  1. Nice!! Not bad for a first attempt, not bad atall!
  2. Compared to what you are used to operating, yep the Woodsman will seem like a beast. Really is a great chipper, nothing like rigging down a whole 14" diameter limb and swinging it straight onto the feed table......once that top feed roller gets hold of it away it goes! Powered by a 140hp CAT engine, it pretty much eats anything......mobile 'phones included! The loader below isn't mine, but belongs to a good mate and therefore is pretty much mine to use when I need it....
  3. 6 wheels on the bucket (twin wheel base), 2 on the chipper and 4 on the pickup......
  4. Actually there's 12..... and I just pm'd ya.
  5. Thanks lads, here's a better pic.....
  6. Here's my Yank 'motor'.....and look at my avatar for a pic of my bucket truck.
  7. [ame] [/ame]
  8. Down sizing and now subbing out alot of my work....in this present financial climate selling tree work to suburban housewives on the south shore of Long Island isn't the place to be in the tree industry! I'm only flogging my trailer and grinder at the moment.....hanging onto the bucket truck and chipper.
  9. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the U.S. levels of pay.
  10. .....and look out for dead branches falling from above when you're putting your felling cuts in place.
  11. Titanic sailed from Southhampton, not Liverpool. And 10 yrs ago I would have moved to Vancouver in a heartbeat. But I chose NY instead......
  12. I'm just trying to picture the HSE geezer turning up on site here and trying to explain to a bunch of pissed off Mexicans & Guatemalens that they have to stop working.................
  13. Most, if not all of the Pin oaks 'round here have gall wasp damage to some degree or another. It's actually a trick question that alot of prospective employers ask up and coming arborists.....'What tree is that?' (as they point at a gall laden Pin oak). My answer was 'Dunno, do you have any Special Brew?' Only joshing, I actually answered correctly with 'It's a Pin oak aka Quercus palustris with a real bad case of gall'. Some trees have it so badly that from a distance it looks like some weird kind of fruit.
  14. Bad case of Oak Gall on Quercus palustris 'round here...........and shouldn't we be getting our galls out for the girls?
  15. Pinus maritima Tim?
  16. The selfish, stupid way that most people drive here in NY. Oh yeah, and anti-semitism.
  17. Warm Special Brew.
  18. Larix kaempferi?
  19. Thanks David, still can't believe I've got where I am sometimes! And yes, you're right mate......no real burning desire to move back to Blighty.......EVER!!
  20. Thanks Carl. One more....
  21. Back yard on jolly ol' Long Island.
  22. Yep, it's 'I'm A Man Of Constant Sorrow' by The Soggy Bottom Boys. Nice work too Tim. Pesky Picea....
  23. Try this one......
