  7. I wouldn't paint it to be honest especially inside, I've strapped boxes to the tree before, or a simple version of the arborbolt I made up which a tree office seemed to be happy for me to use.
  8. That's long gone , there where three of us working and we all got given a dvd, starring her the customer. You used her bathroom and there where pictures everywhere, her husband was a ferking giant of a man tho. So no luck with getting my leg over, my mate tried but don't know if he succeeded as I left the company not long after (must find out tho ). The other guy with the dvd just went bright red and couldn't look at the customer all day, he was only a young un tho the customer kept winking at him so I guess that didn't help.
  9. Buy an arb trolley then no need to run simples. Do you help the groundy when finished tree or do you expect it to be all clean and tidy by the time you come down.
  10. I'm sure you will be ok, there are many spalted beech boards for sale on the internet. The only problem using spalted beech is that there can be soft areas in the wood. I would say the fungus will be dead otherwise you would see continuous spalting, this it why people soak spalted beech or leave it on the ground for the spalting to continue. It's just like the yew debate all wood is bad wear a mask

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
