  1. Yes you would, I use a yacht varnish at the moment but going to look into something I can use with a spray gun.
  2. Today's house sign to be supplied and fitted this week Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  3. I started on 12k and got a rise every year of 2k before tax , any training I received paid by them I would give a year's work to pay back. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

hope you have lots of fun on it.
  9. Draw the letters in the wood first so you have some lines to follow, or print out the letters and use carbon copy paper one the wood. Slow and steady is the key. Any pics of your setup you have??
  10. Lovely work there Timmy If I can help in anyway woodworks let me know
  11. Cheers:thumbup: I'll get the hang of it soon just learning and experimenting at the moment , not bad for first attempts.
  12. The piece of timber is 40cm x 17cm, the writing is just over 2cm high and I used a 3mm router cutter. The logo is 15cm x 9cm. The problem I found with the dremel is it would jump a bit, that's why I was thinking about getting the plunge attachment for it.
  13. Good for you , I've come to the conclusion that if they don't like the price then tough, I'm not going to give it away. People don't realise what work goes into somethings. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  14. After the spirit stain I used chestnuts wood wax 22 over the top.
  15. I might know of some wheel chair ramps for sale Mark, I'll nip down the road and pinch them for you if you want
  16. I would say 450 - 550 easily Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  17. Pyrography i wouldn't waste my time with it as the cheap ones are crap IMO, the router link above is the one I've got which works very well but i could do with something smaller. I also have a dremel which I'm thinking about getting a plunge attachment for it. DREMEL Multi Power Tool Accessories Attachment 335 Plunge Router 26150335JA UK | eBay Or maybe a small palm router, the writing in my pic was done free hand with a router, the fern was done free hand with a dremel with a flexi shaft.
  18. I personally love sweet chestnut, like Alec said once cleft it releases all stresses. I've heard of sweet chestnut lasting easily 25 years unseasoned as fencing so it wouldn't make much difference i would say.
