I've been paying more attention to ivy lately when out and about. All I see is that it is taking advantage of dysfunctional trees, the ivy cover on healthy trees seems to be the same as it ever was. I think that a longer growing season brought about by climate change might well cause ivy to grow more prolifically, it might cause trees to grow at an increased rate too. I'd be interested to read any research proposal you have in mind.

In areas of high occupancy I will specify that ivy needs to be removed before I'll inspect a tree.

It's getting much better, all those grey military planes that have been buzzing about have been generating good images. I think the imagery in Google Earth and the Pro version is from the same source, the Pro version offers more functionality.
