  1. With respect, if you fall out of a tree and land on someone, I don't imagine the HSE or your insurance company are going to consider you 'silly'.
  2. Pm Sent.
  3. I get your extrapolation. It must be pretty shit to be drowning and seeing people do nothing. There are bad bastards of every creed and colour, but there are good ones too. Gan canny Tim, have a good week.
  4. I've been dogsitting this idiot:
  5. I'd like to think I'd try to save them both.
  6. Tim, if anyone fell overboard would you try to rescue them?
  7. Is the refugee a fit Ukrainian?
  8. It's art, it's supposed to provoke a response and it has worked. Would you check their ID before rescuing them?
  9. I think you've mentioned this before, because not long afterwards I adopted a very similar practice using the GPS tracking on my surveying camera, so thank you for that, and for putting me onto "irfanview" too.
  10. You can get GPS data from a phone when there's no 'signal', it isn't as accurate as when there is a phone tower nearby though. You can download OS maps which are georeferenced. When you convert the map to a usable format (dxf/dwg), the georeferencing remains intact, which allows you to plot onto them using GPS, without internet connectivity.
  11. It works for me. After four years of using it I'm beginning to think that I should have fronted the money for the Lifetime License.
  12. The proof-reader could have done a better job but the sentiment rings true.

Not all heroes wear capes. If I was running that study I'd be over the moon to receive responses, and suggestions how to do things better from people like yourself.

That is a link to a post that they "retweeted", probably in order to gain more attention. Scientific studies are designed to factor in variables to prove or disprove hypotheses. It is highly likely that the people running this study will be factoring in different pollinators in their research. This project could actually help your business.

Your input into the dataset would probably be well welcomed.
  17. There are a few options out there depending on what kit you currently have. I've been using Axiscape for a few years now. AxciScape - Home WWW.AXCISCAPE.COM Surveyors survey data collection tool optimised for field use on a tablet or laptop. General purpose CAD tool allowing fast... I quite like the looks of "Portable Mapper" too, but I'm wary of programs that rely heavily on internet connectivity, it's something to consider when working in remote places.

This seems like a useful project that we could probably contribute to: Plum job: UK public asked to track fruit trees for climate study | Trees and forests | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM People asked to record flowering cherry and plum trees near them to see whether patterns are changing https://fruitwatch.org/
  19. Ha ha, as if Lebedev named his dog "Boris".
  20. Most things are geared against the man in the street.
  21. Aye, it sucks when you try and do the right things and it comes back to bite you. I hope there's some way of getting a class-action of sorts against the people who seem to have stitched you all up.
  22. She's very good and you're welcome to her number. I think a solicitor is probably a better starting point in your circumstances.
  23. You're just sore because they stopped you from bending the rules. Don't give it the high-horse.
  24. That's not really much of a benchmark...
