  4. Aye, but if you remove the adverts and the desire (addiction) for consumerism then the whole thing falls on its arse, so they need more people and more consumers to maintain it, it's going to go 'pop' one way or another, the new anti-protest laws will help stoke the fires and then social media will do its insidious work on people who should know better.

  6. I don't think that many people at the end of feudal times were aware that they were moving from feudalism to monarchism, I also have my suspicions that not many people noticed the transition from monarchism to capitalism, capitalism seems to be on its last legs now and I have no idea what, if anything, is coming next.

  13. What about an advisory referendum? Surely that's not so gung-ho?
  14. Is there a limit on how many referenda a country can have on any given issue? By your reasoning we shouldn’t keep having general elections. The people voted once, that’s it, no more choices and you aren’t allowed to change your mind EVER? It's worth keeping in mind that more people in Scotland voted to remain in the EU than to leave.
  15. Scotland blocked from holding independence vote by UK's Supreme Court | CNN EDITION.CNN.COM Britain's Supreme Court has ruled that Scotland's government cannot unilaterally hold a second referendum on whether to secede from the United Kingdom, in a blow to independence... "The SNP were always going to "win" this regardless of which direction the courts went: they can either have the referendum, or they can't and it just proves there's no actual democracy. They've played a blinder here."
  16. Did you take your accountant to court over that?
  17. Nobody wants to talk about how a Tory Brexit has, as predicted by some, screwed the UK.
