  1. Beam trawlers - destroying the seabed | Greenpeace UK
  2. "The Crown is the ultimate owner of all land in England and Wales" - Bridget Prentice, Parliamentary Questions, "who is the absolute owner of land?"*Parliamentary Questions: Absolute owner of land.
  3. You only lease the land its on, thats how comes they can compulsory purchase your home and build what ever they like in its place, I own my house your not alone we're all took for mugs
  4. As long as you kept in your boundaries I wouldn't care less if you built the Taj Mahal permission or not, the peado scenario is a different subject, in a civilised society with no planning permission etc those bastards wouldn't be alive!
  5. You're a nutter Tony! But not alone mate, everything in your post is spot on! Poor old eggsarascal and thousands of others slogged there guts out and risked his life to buy a house he really doesn't actually own!
  6. Not my land not my business, I think you're trying to suggest students would a problem, this might or might not be the case, the issue in discussions is building materials, design etc not peoples character. Seeings as you've touched the subject I'd say being housed like battery hens might be a cause of many social and physical ills, especially combined with financial pressures
  7. I'm guessing beam trawling, highly detrimental to the seabed and catches huge amounts of juvenile fish, one fishing method that definitely needs banning
  8. We're talking about housing not caparks, but if my neighbours were to build a very large home as long as it doesn't interfere with me or go onto my land I couldn't give a stuff, sadly this isn't the usual attitude of most people, they're often more interested in other peoples lives yhan there own, I've had plenry to do with planners
  9. You shouldn't need planning ''permission'' from some dick in a council office, you should be free to build what the hell you like
  10. Will your house ever be worth in your lifetime what you've paid for it, taking into consideration the horrendous amount of interest you're likely to pay?
  11. There are a multitude of ways we could live healthily, cheaply and more importantly with stress highly reduced, but that doesn't put big money into fat bankers or big devlopers pockets, we live in a screwed up world, if I choose to build and live in a house made from egg boxes what the hell has it got to do with anyone.
  12. Demersal longlining, gill netting, fish trapping, potting are methods I can accept, I've got no gripe with the majority of the inshore fleet. But dragging 5 ton of iron over a seabed trawling or catching 500 ton of mackerel in one hit I can't accept as a sustainable industry. Don't get me started on trawler bycatch! I don't blame low fish stocks competely on commercial fishing, I also blame bad government/EU fisheries managment
  13. Well done lads
  14. No big deal, I hope he has a good life....

  17. Isn't it funny how over time opinions change, today 4 years on from some of my original posts I find myself disagreeing with myself.
  18. I can't see where the work is for these 100hp plus grinders, damn nice bits of kit though!
  19. Only one trouble with a 3.5 ton Isuzu, with a chip body they can't carry legally more than around a ton they are one heavy truck, I had one, the 7.5 tonner is the total opposite, the best weight carrier on the market again I had one
  20. Canter every time, transits in fact all fords are utter rubbish!
  21. Ex employees have been known to rob firms too...
  22. Free ad papers are always worth keeping an eye on
  23. Does anyone ever get caught for these thefts? Scum!
  24. Put it like this I've been in the tree game since I was 18 and I'm 45 now, and I haven't walked about with my eyes closed and ears shut the entire time, so no its not a pub fact...
  25. Over half the gear knicked gets bought by tree surgeons and landscapers either knowingly or not
