  1. Not often I get chance to fell sticks these days so could be a bit rusty with this Turkey from today. About 33" wide hinge.
  2. Nice one Mick but a driving dog is common really, when was the last time you saw a two headed collie?
  3. Squashing is my specialty!
  4. Oh another cheeky sod! Coming from a scrawny little whip of a lad, you'll need to hope I don't get the chance to sit in you!😜🐘
  5. You cheeky sods! Both of you need to know I have a long memory!😜😎
  6. There's a big difference. The 192t was never sold in the UK so not many parts available off the shelf.
  7. No worries Ian, it was tongue in cheek really. I'd of thought by now you must know I, like many other people regard you as being in the top 3 or 4 arbs in the country right now.
  8. I must of missed where it said it'd been dismantled. Nothing like a swift back cut and yank over with the boxer when it's getting near beer o'clock. 👍
  9. I notice no comments with the pics Ian so I guess you posted hoping for comments of horror. I can only assume you caught some gardener cutting some trees and sneaked in in the cover of darkness later to take the shot. I know not even you would make such a beginner mistake of cutting toes like that, unless you didn't care where the stick landed. Please, please tell me this isn't your work!?
  10. I know this subject has been brushed on before, but it's nice to show appreciation. I'm thinking it would be good to give praise to those members that have really made a difference to you. I'm not particularly talking of characters and jokers, I mean those who've given good advice, shared kit, knowledge and really made a difference to your business, lifestyle etc. So to start, a couple from me. Spud. Due to the wealth of information and knowledge he shares. David Humphries. This guy sure has educated me. 10 years ago the only mushrooms I knew of were ones that came from asda.
  11. Very good effort, that's the document I was looking for earlier. I wonder how many will actually read it then abide by it?😧
  12. And yet the thread rolls on. With all the so called professional opinions given here, even some being critical of travellers and thieves, it seems none know or even seem to give a toss what is legal regarding burning, let alone what is ethically or environmentally correct. Very poor of you all👎
  13. If you want to do it in accordance with the environment agency and not break the law, you would avoid burning any waste oil or tyres! On the line of what you can do legally, burning upto 10tons of green waste in 24 hours is acceptable. That's a LOT of brash!
  14. You guys are skimming on an important issue but maybe avoidable depending how much power is used. Caravans are fitted with leisure batteries, these are designed to be fully charged and fully discharged. Unlike a normal battery on an engine, it's designed to give high power for a short time but can be knackered if flattened. If the motor mover is only used for say 20% of the charge of the battery it may cope ok but not regularly near flattened.
  15. Tirol fighters IMO. Regular waxing as Chris says is a must. They won't fall apart!
  16. Lol! I was meaning from the legal point mate😉
  17. Too right! A mate of mine put some old pics up on FB recently with that huge old topping down kit. Was pre helmet days and the ropes were huge but somehow the job still got done!
  18. There's actually a large amount of irony there Ian. I climbed today for the first time in months & months. Yes, I RE-topped two birch. I don't think there's pictures fortunately. 😎
  19. Love the box but You'll need to watch your rear axle weight on that now Johnny. 👍
  20. I know, it's attached to my ear muffs. I never leave the house without them👍
  21. Mate, I've antagonised you and Sean. Very tongue in cheek if you couldn't tell. It's the way I see it these days, as you say it goes on every day and we see lots of it. Regardless of your professional attitude it will still go on, so as a result although it possibly defeatist I don't let it get under my skin anymore. I do realise it's possibly not the "correct" thing to do turning a blind eye, but if there's no official action being taken with these wannabes what can we do?
  22. But it's a commercial world we live in. Spiking makes it easier therefore quicker, more money, less fatigue etc, etc. 99% of door knocking birch toppers don't care about the health of a common betula so why should "we" bother?
  23. But he would be the envy of all other gardeners in the county. If they were to see him, they'd be thinking, he's got balls of steel, looks like he's bought one of them fancy harnesses, nice pole saw, we ought to get one of them, we should get some of this kit and do tree work too. They wouldn't be thinking he should be wearing a helmet as they probably know it's not a legal requirement. I doubt he's gonna go to jail.
