  1. That's not entirely true. Arbsafe would be cross referenced when it was recovered. There's a huge increase in organise thefts such as yours, often drug related. I know the police often do raids on such, where kit such as this is recovered.
  2. Spot on! Well, except he's now a suvverner so needs EVEN MORE justification for his rip off fees😄😜
  3. I like your interpretation, except for this part; The problem I have with this, and therefore the whole opinion you have explained, is that a decent face cut will allow the hinge to "bend" for adequately long enough that the momentum will of already set the falling position of the tree before the face closes, therefore eliminating the effect of buttress fibres pulling the tree one way or the other. Hope I've explained my thoughts ok.
  4. When you say accuracy Ian, do you mean dressing the hinge due to having flat edges etc, or more accuracy of the fall? I, like Pete can't picture an advantage.
  5. Just for a change, I'm gonna ask a question I don't usually ask. Why have you cut the toes off?😧 I know there's plenty of humour involved here but I regard you as one of the best tree men in Europe at the moment Ian, so hopefully you can explain in a constructive manner without the usual "that's how I've always done it" or "my saw wasnt big enough" Come on Ian, give it a try, in a mentor type of teaching👍
  6. Cheers Matty, guess I'm a little short on time these days to start ripping saws down but a swap of short motor wouldn't take much doing. Cheers for the heads up👍
  7. Bottom end mate. It needs a few other bits too but not sure if it's worth resurrecting.
  8. Looking for a trashed or blown 560 to rob for parts or make 2 into 1. I'd be interested in anything. 👍
  9. Goodnight! So if anyone else has experience of these, I'd appreciate your input. 👍
  10. Many thanks to the others of you that added to title, time is of the essence as a purchase is intended tomorrow. Regards, Pete.
  11. Ok, I tried to be polite, asking in the best way possible to avoid this as it was VERY important to me to get quick first hand reports on this. Instead, you have actually posted more times than any other individual and had no input on the thread title. So piss off and start your own thread!
  12. As title, need first hand views from folk who've actually got or used one. Comparison to the 192 would be great but otherwise, just your opinion on build quality, power, use ability etc. Cheers.
  13. The muffler mod transformed my 192. I did it when new, possibly didn't get a tank of fuel through before I did it. It being a 192t imported from US I didn't worry about warranty. If I'm honest it's not too short of a 200 speed of cut-wise, only running a little short on grunt with a full bar buried. The mod is easy, I'm sure you'll be capable yourself if you can use a drill and have some idea how to set up a carb. All that's needed is to remove the deflector on the can, and the spark screen. Where the "recess" of the can is, drill the whole of this out and smooth the edges with a file. Refit the deflector and place the spark screen in the bin. Reset the cab. Job done. I fitted a 12" 200 bar on mine and never looked back. I'm one of the fortunate ones who still has a couple of excellent running 200's, so if the day came that the 192 met its end I'd probably buy a 193. prolonging the life of the 200's is another benefit running this size saw IMO.
  14. Yeh, my main point was you can never have too many saws! I do have all three sizes, albeit its 150, 192(modded) and 200. I can honestly say they all have uses and I would say the 192 is most used. I did have the 192 many years before the 150 was available and was the "pruning saw" that was capable of dismantles due to a modded exhaust. If I were running a 150 & 200, would I buy a 193? Not sure I would if I didn't know how useful the intermediate saw is. My advice would be don't be put off at the thought you wouldn't find work for it, try one out if you can, you will be impressed.
  15. Just out of curiosity, do you use a saw around 60cc for general ground work, possibly a MS362 or 560XP, then when felling something big pull out a 395XP or MS661? I'd imagine you do but never say "I dont see the point in that 362 as it's no match to the 661"!
  16. Pm me a price then Jon, it's been a while since Santa has been to our house so better be a give away. Don't block my inbox with 200 messages though, just the one message will do! Haha!😎👌
  17. Ah, yes. The limited experience opinions. Very often unfounded and misleading. In the case of the 540t though, there were many opinions shared from those with direct, and often multiple experience of that particular saw. Hardly limited. In short, those with plenty of experience of reviewing saws and new technology were given that saw on demo, including me. The general consensus on that saw came back as "it goes well but falls apart" Not a good basis for the scenario that Kev is in sending a crew out with one in "perfect condition".
  18. REALLY? I've based my whole business module on what you guys have told me on here. Are you saying the reviews are untruthful?
  19. Shouldn't of bought it in reality then, given its reliability reports.
  20. A year on. Any significant progression?
  21. Yeh, I did the search but very limited on the tajfun. It's the 320 I'm looking at. Liking the look of the twin ram setup.
  22. Very helpful so far, I'll stand by my bed.
  23. A bit of feedback on these would be great, good or bad. Cheers in advance. RCA Tajfun
  24. It's the Right Fuelcard Company that I'm looking at. They're running off the back of Shell. Currently they're offering 90.26p/l on diesel. There terms are tight though, credit is weekly + 5 days. Charging 1ppl for use in Morrison & Coop etc. Card fee is £1.50 a month. Minimum spend £200 a month. With all the bits and bobs to keep a check on, I'm wondering how much the local garage will offer on account. They're currently £1.14 pl inc vat and I'm buying around £500 a month from them so might be worth an ask.
  25. Looking into running fuel cards due to the ever increasing amount we're spending every month. Any of them any better than others?
