  1. I did a conifer reduct last week and found a ring neck nest with two chicks about 5 days old in it. (Obviously left that bit of conifer) Also did a birch removal on saturday as a rush job as the adjoining Ivy column hosts many birds, and the customer said Blackbirds have already started looking for nest sites in it.
  2. Very intersting shots Quickthorn. Although the environmental debate will go on for a long time yet, i feel with these type of illustrations, it shows how difficult it is to persuade clients to avoid the chemical approach.
  3. Oops, hope ive not de-railed the thread! Sorry.
  4. Intersting read Jason, never heard of that club before. Sounds like you are more of a landy boff than me:001_tt1: Is there some history i have read somewhere about the really early landys that had the steering wheel in the center? Just going from memory here(the grey matter is not my strong point), but wasnt the center seated one from the days when the market was as an agricultural vehicle that could run on the road? Oh, and i believe there was even a 2WD one!
  5. Out of curisity, where did you hear that Jason? Land Rover would have you believe this one was the first- old "Huey"; http://www.landyonline.co.za/specs/hue166-series1-land-rover.htm
  6. Arbtalk ride out sounds great- thats why im after getting some bits done on the old girl, so i can get a ride out to the TT this year!
  7. Yeh, British for sure........designed in Japan:ohmy:
  8. Ok Jason, now you have started to confess your passion for all things british, tell me you love landys also...............at least then i will no longer feel alone in my mantal state:scared1: Oh, and by the way, my daughter says red is better:001_tt2:
  9. Many thanks Dave, although its an american site it seems to have lots of activity so should be worth a try. Many thanks for that Charlie, i will PM you. If anyone else knows of any info please feel free:001_tt1:
  10. You saying you didnt believe how mental i am? Lol!
  11. Ive been looking around to find a good Triumph bike forum to join and find some technical info from, but all i seem to find is very modern, very old or triumph car forums! My bike is a 1993 Trident Sprint so seems to be little mentioned. So, do any of you guys know of a good forum that i could get into? Dont really know how many of you bikers are into Triumphs! Im off to the TT this year and the old girl needs some work:confused1: Any links etc would be great.
  12. Thats like the one penfold is talking about, it went very close to a nice oak tree......... So close McSarnie Snaffler hit it!
  13. Nice to hear from you Uncle Al! We have (or had) two common Elms around us, Which Elm and English Elm. One was straight grained and a good splitter when freshly cut, as for the other, well you would get a lot hotter splitting it than burning it!
  14. Eeeh, when i was a lad.................! Yep sure brings back memories, when almost every standing Elm was dead! Burned tons of it back in the day when it was plenty. Goes great but if you are burning on a stove watch out for tarring if you have it closed down a lot!
  15. A few more details you would like to post? How old is it, age of tractor, how many hours etc? Maybe some pics?
  16. A pic from the other day while working in a village called Sutton, East Yorks. I was trying to shoot the nice church in the distance(Wawne Church) but instead got a really good shot of the very affluent, and well respected North Brandsholme, North Hull. (for those who know the area:sneaky2:) Well, it was a lovely day anyway:001_cool:
  17. Cheers for that guys, its just an enquiry at the moment to see if its viable.
  18. So, does anyone know if its possible to hire a good processor? Having looked around i cant seem to find any available, only sales, and the price of anything half decent has gone mad! If so, is it viable, even if hire was say a couple of weeks with a large heap of cordwood to go at? If anyone knows of such a hire, any ideas on prices for a machine taking upto say 18" cord.
  19. I have a mate who is a dive engineer and uses hydraulics regularly. They use them mainly for cutting old wooden piles in docks. Guess they are a bit better to start under water than a MS660!
  20. A list like that and ive the shakes...... Guess ive got real problems:crying:
  21. Think my mental stability is seriously at risk then Jason, what with the Landys on the drive and a Triumph in the garage:love:
  22. Steady on Matt, that would make it like a JAP:scared1:
