No worries Bob, some interesting points. I guess the main reason i like the idea(even though i only have 2 ported saws) is the extra power from a smaller saw, particularly in the tree to combat fatigue. I wonder if, (as far as risk assessment goes) reduced fatigue from using a smaller saw outweighs the points you raise though Bob? OK then, i guess you can shoot me down now:001_rolleyes:

I also believe there is a slight bit of misleading going on here about kids. It clearly states on the website quoted, "We have no children in our directory" Like Huck says would be nice if we could just state the facts!

Oh, and yes, i am from the Northeast with ginger hair, even a very big belly, but when i finish climbing i always help the lads on the floor, even though it may mean sweating like a fat lad, but i will not profess to be any more than i am. I voted No on the poll also.

Dont want to put a downer on the joining a group bit, BUT, I joined our local group nearly a year ago, and also tried to get into the Bat Conservation Trust, and offered my services (FREE) but was treated as if i was a murderer! One guy even said "Oh, a tree surgeon eh? I recon they are responsible for the national decline in numbers of bats over the last 30 years!" Although i will try my best to avoid any disturbance of any wildlife habitat, i will not get involved with any of the groups! Just my ten.

Think it should say on the label somewhere about its "post mix life span" or "tank life". Sounds like Kerb could be on its way out then if FSC have banned it now. It was always great especially like said as a coctail with glyphosate:sad:

Good question, theres no real definate answer as it depends how far open the outlet ends up, if you refit the deflector etc, but it could be as little as a quarter turn further out on the hi jet. The low jet may not need much adjustment. These are only estimates and really to get it right you need to reset the jets with the tacho, as a saw running too lean after being opened up will not last too long! Cheers, Pete.

As some will know i have a 192t with a modded exhaust. After getting a request to show how it was done, here goes; This mod is just the exhaust that has been opened up, not the cleanest job but was done when the saw was new nearly 5 years ago, and has had very regular use since with no ill effects. First of all i removed the deflector screen behind the side panel, there is a spark arrestor beneath this, that went straight in the bin! Behind the spark screen is a recessed, rectangle shape with the exhaust hole in it. The back of the recessed part needs to be cut completely out, to look something like this; I did this by drilling as many holes as possible in the rear plate(approx 5-6mm drill), then filing the excess metal out with a 5/32" file. It is much safer to remove the exhaust prior to doing this to prevent dropping filings into the exhaust port. I did refit my deflector screen, but it can be left off if you accept the side cover of the saw may melt! Another option is to open the slot in the deflector slightly to allow more gas out, but here is mine standard fitted; Following this, you MUST re-set the jets on the carb. This is best done with the aid of a tacho to get it spot on. This is a quick and easy operation to do if you have a medium mechanical knowledge, but resetting jets is a MUST! Hope this helps anyone with a 192t(or back handle) who wants almost the same power as from a stock 200. Pete.

Like you Andy, i used to have a card but it was some 7 or 8 years ago. Think it got binned years ago! One of the builders i was speaking to the other day said the new type does not expire now like the old ones. Could be worth getting the new one anyway, then we have it!

Not actually mine, but i`d love to buy it-could be a struggle! The old girl is two wheel drive, so just ribbed tyres to steer at front like a tractor.(no power steering:scared1:). Has single cylinder lister diesel motor. Uses near as much oil as fuel! It used to be hand crank but many years ago changed to electric start. Not sure about road use, it takes a bit of stopping!

Heres a possible to join the fleet; Great old bus, its a Johnson Jotil, but it doesnt tip....................yet!

Heres dedication for you, been back to the said tree and here it is in its full glory earlier today; Did lots of asking around, and finally found the head grounds man, a grey haired wierdy beardy sort, told me he planted it as a two year old sapling back in 1417.
