The edit fuction timed out on me before i saw what i had typed! I believe its diameter 7cm, not 70cm girth! Age i suppose!

Nice one Andy, sign of old age i'm afraid:001_tongue: Just wondering though, how big are the trees? Going from memory(correct me if i'm wrong), a tree needs to be 70cm girth at 1.4m height to require submission of intension of works in conservation area, therefore any small trees recently planted may not have any protection at all.

Think i'm the same Andy, assume they aren't covered. As i understood it, as many have already pointed out, anything in the ground on the date of the order is protected, anything after isn't. Thus differing from Conservation area protection. Do you have a good rappour with your LA? They obviously must have a valid interest in the site for them to impliment the emergency TPO in the first place. Could be some brownie points in there for you:sneaky2:

Around here, everyone last year was at; big bags seasoned hardwood £60, unseasoned £50, softwood £50 and nets £3.50 seasoned hardwood, £3 unseasoned or softwood. I sold out before xmas! Next year prices WILL increase due to higher demand than last, and i will not have a conscience. Never under sell yourselves guys!

I use cargo net with bunji rubber then remove it after chipping. Cost £20 from our local tarp place, stops chips but lets air through so dust doesnt blow back at you, and lets rain through so doesnt sag.

I`ll try and add a bit more info for you guys and reply to most comments together; The clear up was left to the customer, so we just did the fun, erm sorry, technical bits! And yes, he did really try and put "Take That" as a sound track whenever i appeared on the vid. Glad that didnt work. Lol! The guy on the whinch is the owner of the hotel' date=' he had his arm in a sling after dislocating his shoulder, and has never done anything like this before! Turned out to be a star and really enjoyed himself! He did wonder if the land rover would stay put, until i showed him the sling attaching it to his shed! The Funguy shots were specially for you dave! Is that both Petes Iain? Think we were both guilty of that one.... I will post a few more pics later when i get them out of the little silver thingy!

All sounds great from what you say bob, the only thing i need to check is that the eye of the cambium saver is not distorting as you say. I suppose i could get a maillon that is a better shape if it is, guess ive always used the isc for ease of fitting. What you say about compatability between different kit is, as you say very important, but i dare say is very easily overlooked. This is another BIG can of worms i suppose. Sounds like theres a bit of variation in quality of pointers. I think i was lucky as the one i got appears to be the same as buxtons and sherrills but only cost a fraction of those. Anyway, took a piccy of the dot of mine at about 25meters away in good daylight. Hopefully you can see the dot on the fence:blushing:

Just to update you Bob, I did take a pic but my card reader is playing up so no pic at the mo! Basically i use a cambium saver with the small ring cut out and put an ISC 3 way carab(pear shaped) through it holding a fixed cheek petzel 13mm pulley. I always hang the carab so the gate is facing away from the tree stem. Hope this makes sense, if not, i will put the pic up when i can get this electro-gadget thing working!
