  1. If he is our part of "North" Andy, i may let him try mine. Where is he?
  2. Just a shame all that lovely wood.
  3. Nah, just sounding more desperate:lol: Seriously Liam, i dont think there will be too much trouble with yours if you havent noticed the perished screen rubber. Yours does look very smart, even for a 2004. Dont woory over much fella
  4. Yeh, still the ford 2.5. Got it as a dropside tipper from a builder ive worked for. Heres the origional thread on it if you fancy a look:biggrin: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/11768-quick-cheap-ldv-chip-box.html
  5. Would the logs not mill Stevie? Be a shame if it lay there much longer and start to rot.
  6. Ha, ha! Theres only 6 years of oxidisation on yours instead of the 9 years on mine:001_tt2:
  7. The rear shoes are a nightmare! It was the auto adjusters that packed up on mine, one side with no effort and with both front calipers shot, she was only really braking on one rear wheel:scared1:
  8. As you can see by mine, theres not much carpet left in! My theory now is, if it leaks in, it can run straight out again! Bit more cab noise now on the road, but at least i can see whats happening with the floor:thumbup1:
  9. Cheers Robert. Dare i say it, its a 2001 with only 62000 on the clock:w00t:
  10. Should that be bare or bear? Oh well! Here you go; Thats just the welding inside the cab! I have renewed the discs, pads and calipers, several brake pipes, rear shoes, sorted hand brake then the usual lighting issues, wiper blades etc, etc. One key tip Liam, Make sure the cab is water tight! The main problem with the cab floor was due to the screen leaking and the carpet holding about 10 gallons of water on the steel permanently, so check the screen rubber isnt perishing on the corners! She is in for re-test tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed:thumbup1:
  11. Bear with me Ill go and take some pics before it gets dark:thumbup1:
  12. Nice to see even the old ones used as they were designed:thumbup1:
  13. Dont worry about it Liam, Im sure there'll be no trouble:sneaky2: Looking good!
  14. Nice pics steve, very west coast loggers:thumbup1: You sure had a couple of ugly mugs felling though:001_tt2:
  15. Anything, as long as its a stihl:001_tt2:
  16. Cheers for the reply john, but i feel the reply you quoted from Lyn was as a result of careless cockle pickers, not log burners. Surely, in the(mainly) domestic market, customers are already thinking green by burning none fossil/carbon neutral fuels and will have the foresight to either reuse the nets, or put them in the plastic recycle bin? If these nets are already made from recycled plastic, that must be a good thing but if they were reused or recycled again, i wonder how this would compare to the manufacturing and environmental impact of a single use cardboard/natural type of packaging? There are still thousands of tons of plastic per week going to landfill but yet millions are spent finding out ways of recycling highly degradable materials that would be much safer in landfill IMO. Sorry if this sounds a bit negative on the line of your idea of less man made pacaging, but you are already selling to an eco consious audience. Perhaps the marketing should go along the lines of; "We have used recycled materials to package your firewood, so please help us and the environment by returning your packaging for re-use or responsible disposal" Just a thought from a different angle.
  17. At that rate mate, I could afford to buy a 40cube bulk load from you, pay for transport to me(over 400 miles away) and sell it on at a profit of £30/cube. Quite scary really. Oh, and thats last years prices(£80/cube)
  18. Good point Andy, and without derailing too much, perhaps the longer serving members can also think before posting threads like "where can i get the cheapest saws" or "whats the date of such show" Would cut down on the escalating number of useless threads if they just looked for themselves.
  19. Different offices mate, depends on the staff in there i think. I have all my kit with them, about 6 different policies in total, but I'm a little stuck with them now as no one else can come anywhere near on price. Our local office is always spot on too when ever you ring. My chipper is insured with them too:thumbup1:
  20. This group of people who cant maintain saws are probably the ones that cant use them either. I will not sharpen for others, instead offer them a saw "use" service I think it would be a cheek buying a saw from B&Q then going to a pro and asking for him to sharpen it Just me i guess
  21. Think its just new and after a set date but if you can PROVE you need it for work purposes there is allowance to still have Liams type.
  22. Try the search option mate, lots of feedback. This was just from a couple of weeks back; http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/17554-predator-tp-50-a.html
  23. Are they not made from recycled plastic John?
