  1. Have you tried the bypass on the stress control? It could be playing up, unplug the little spade terminal then see if the rollers do the same as you described, remember the chipper will stall if you put anything big in so be ready on the control buttons. If this doesn't help check the control switches inside the box. Let us know how you get on.
  2. Hello, my in laws are looking for a quality log supplier in the Bridgwater area. PM me if you can help.
  3. Are their eight available willing to do the course yet? Currently practicing double braid after forgetting how to do it.
  4. Sounds to good to be true!
  5. Good point but what about the planning regulations? It would be a nightmare.
  6. So how do you know what's right? Your point was not made by me to clear your false statement, my point was to point out that your point in your post was incorrect.
  7. Professionally, I would never say a tree is safe. See, it's easy to criticize on a online forum.
  8. This is very important please check this thread out.
  9. I thought I would post this Treehouse thread here just in case anybody has purchased these suspect aluminum rings from Sherrill or any other arborist equipment supplier. Broken aluminum ring - The #1 HARDCORE arborist forum, bar, and grill - Enjoy the buffet and libations!

  11. The first County I drove had no steering, you had to steer with the brakes, luckily we were pollarding riverside Willows in a big field so accurate steering was not important.
  12. Very nice rig. Here is a up coming job described by my friend as the biggest effing Maple he has ever seen. Removal of course.
  13. I used to use Felcos but lost them and haven't replaced them, same thing with loppers, I use the Silky a fair bit though but I am not fond of topiary.
  14. Im astounded at the things i have forgotten in the 10 or so years since my original rigging course. Last edited by Monkeyd; 05-03-08 at 05:18 PM.. You did a rigging course? I never have, I wish I had, maybe I should.
  15. Yeah I agree, more stories from France would be good:blink:
  16. Ha, I made the local paper. I am described as a lumberjack:001_tongue:
  17. Thank you, I didn't notice any rhizomorphs but there was mycelium at the base and of course, the smell. Oddly when we looked at the tree about six weeks ago there was no life but yesterday there was some green foliage, the last gasp?
  18. A few shots I managed to snatch with my phone today, started yesterday, dead Redwood, money fungus, been on the cards for a long time this job, stripped the crown out yesterday morning, 50 ton crane today, right over the top, 4 ton lifts at the bottom of tree. Nervous, long time since a crane job and this was only my third one. Crew was excellent. Many more pictures to come, tree owner had a very nice Nikon.
  19. It sounds sad but I am looking forward to using this.
  20. Thank you, looking forward to splicing my new lanyard this weekend.
  21. Today's Holm Oak reduction, previously pollarded, then reduced, then I gave it a hack today, also crown lift to allow crane access. In the background is next weeks redwood removal. Sorry about the picture quality.
  22. OK, who exactly stocks them? I have looked at all the sites, perhaps not very well.
  23. Ha,ha, there's a LDV owners forum? I gotta get on there.
  24. Heavy, heavy, heavy, I hate blocking down Beech trunks, some real big limb lowering going on. Nice as usual Reg.
  25. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
