  1. Oh fidldle, I've inverted this pic twice now to get it right and it keeps tipping upside down.....strange. But you get the idea.
  2. If its to protect the local dealerships, then the local dealerships should carry a comprehensiverange of parts and spares as part of their commitment. The number of times I have been to local "approved" dealers to order parts, they have to order them in, it takes 2 weeks for that part to come, or I order online from out of area dealers and I have the part on my doorstep tomorrow. Its the old laws of supply and demand though, if they cant supply, there are plenty of other manufacturers who make pro saws who will supply. If you dont like Stihls policy, buy an alternative. We are the customers, without our money and support they are affected directly. You do have a choice.
  3. The fitting on the headset is listed as Standard, this will work on a range of 2-ways, such as Alan, Alinco, Icom Cobra Intek and several other makes of the commonly used PMR446 range. It is possible to buy adapters to convert to other models of radio, though probably easier to ask at a radio suppliers such as Maplins whether your radios are "Standard" fitting.
  4. You have my sympathy, I've been off for 3 weeks now, and I should be match-fit for next week all being well. I've never had more than a day or so off in one go, so this has been an unknown for me.
  5. I think that two well-respected members of the Arb community discussing such an important issue on here proves the value of this site, things will never move forward without such discussion. Personally I lean toward the 10:1 SF, for no simpler reason than I heard the number, it stuck in my head, simples. As soon as people start bandying other numbers about, my head goes into overload. Confusion is dangerous, and the KISS system works best, and I know that in many arb companies there is usually only one person on the team who is likely to even start to understand the rudimentary theories of rigging!
  6. Lovely bit of kit there Stevie
  7. This topic is something I've been mulling over for the last month, and I havent come up with any answers yet. As our circumstances and health changes, we cant always do the same tasks as easily. All I'll say from experience, is have a plan in place in case the wheel falls off your wagon.
  8. Never wear them
  9. I want to stick a fork in my eye
  10. I think Treequip is right in his assessment. Society not only judges you for who you are, but also the type of people you choose to associate with, either directly or indirectly. The facts are that a known scrote was in your company vehicle, which to me is bad enough as it reflects on your business (and I know personally of an instance locally of this directly affecting trade). You are responsible for your vehicles, your tools and your business, no one else, and its hardly the police's fault if you cant take care of that.
  11. Sorry Hama, whole lot going to one buyer, which certainly saves messing about.
  12. I'm agreeing with Skyhuck on this, as its what my insurer put down in writing for me, that the report/survey is covered regardless of whether you maintain the policy in the future, but you will need to keep the proof of insurance (certificate) for future reference. A correctly written report will state that the report is accurate at the time of writing, and that the trees will need monitoring annually in the future. It should also include that if the work is not carried out to your specifications, or if you are over-ruled, you cannot be deemed responsible for that.
  13. I've been off work for medical reasons for about 10days now, going up the walls so surfing the net for my "tree fix" to keep me sane (not that its working:biggrin:)
  14. Google is your friend (and your only one!)
  15. Speculation M'Lud!
  16. Tree work which went wrong
  17. I know Steve Bullman had an Atlas and was pleased with it
  18. If there is an issue with any moderation, you are free to bring it up with the administration. I/we moderate this forum to enable it to run freely without any issues. Now for example what I regard as racism another mod may not, likewise with the type of language used by some. I personally try to mod without fear or favour, to treat everyone equally, beyond my personal beliefs, following a set of very basic forum rules that each and every member agreed to follow before posting.
  19. I dont think I met him
  20. Whether we like it or not, these people are human beings, and should be treated properly and within our laws. Likewise I would hope that forum members can show a little common sense in posting about this topic, whichever side of the fence your opinions come from. Otherwise all threads relating to this topic will be removed.
  21. Still waiting to hear the other side of the story here. I have walked around with various sharp implements/knives etc in Tescos and town without realising. I've seen the police in the same place at the same time. Steve & I was pulled over by the police for routine checks, I still had a knife on my belt and they did not bat an eyelid, as well as the pile of gear in the cab and the buck. At the height of the terrorist threats, I've even walked into town beside Steve and even his very suspicious ever-so-slightly Middle Eastern terrorist appearance did not get us interrogated. I did draw the line at him carrying a rucksack in public though:biggrin: well when I was with him anyway, the police are a little too trigger happy on some occasions
  22. Sheeesh! Thats a fair price!
  23. Sizes vary 2-5inch, 6-8foot long boards, spalting as good as you get, interesting anyway.
  24. Yes Honda still do a full range of spare parts for the ATC range, through your dealer. For a return spring I would hardly think it worth going through the hassle of importation from the States, just think the postage will cost more than the part!
