  1. Yeah, I was like that once, at least I cant die young now
  2. Thing is we'd all like it to be true
  3. Yes, takes a little bit of practise, but isnt rocket science. The secret with that mower is speed control, not to go into long stuff like a bull in a china shop, give it time to clear itself
  4. I'd hate to have to work that long!!
  5. http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?itemId=1074448099&r.l1=1073858787&r.l2=1073858914&r.l3=1084822723&r.l4=1074446453&r may be helpful, in particular the fact that you dont have to pay them NMW if they live in your house
  6. Aah the Aladdin Challenger. mine kept the heat daily for about 2 days, after then it was cold by breakfast every day, total waste of money. Aladdins standards have fallen lately, wont be buying another in a hurry.
  7. Always handy if you can submit some pics for our perusal, makes the site look pretty and helps those of us who cant read:thumbup1:
  8. Have a word with our very own Steve Bullman, he may be able to assist on this matter
  9. Wessex tow-behind goes on the quad
  10. I cant even start to comprehend the grief thats causing you Tradlogger.
  11. And ignore the jibes that they make your bum look big
  12. The worst thing is that the machine in this case is me, I've been off work now for around a month, so the cost is now starting to hit me. I can manage ok if I do a day on, day off, but on the off days I am absolutely on my knees. Oh well
  13. Seems to be behaving now.... for the time being. Maybe the Skype was an issue.
  14. My Wessex deck has a triple blade, 5foot cut
  15. Here I am again, back in the Stress thread. This time it sneaked up in a different form. In a nutshell, I gave up smoking (a lot!!) 20ish weeks ago. I was given Champix to kill the cravings. They did. I then re-acted to the Champix with some nasty side effects. I stopped taking the Champix. My body then goes into shock due to the lack of Champix (should be weaned off really, but the side effects were scary) Just been back to the doctors today and he tells me that all this upheaval has put my body and mind under severe stress, and its rebelling. So here I'm sitting, working one day on, one day off, trying to cope with a workload and yet not able to work, yet wondering how the bills will be paid if I dont pull my finger out. Its a vicious circle this stress stuff. Do I regret quitting the smokes? not at all, but in all honesty I actually feel less healthy now than I have ever felt in my life.
  16. Hmmmm just had to close AT and re-open it as it froze up after my last post It does seem better on the whole though.
  17. Fingers crossed, its been bugging me, and a source of irritation tbh. Thanks peckerwoo
  18. Well progress seems to be made (touchwood), the pages are loading up better, as fast I would expect, and arent "stalling" while loading
  19. Ok removed the default Skype as suggested, and also switched Skype off on the toolbar, though this is incovenient as I use Skype a lot (nearly as much as AT) but at least understanding what causes the issues will help.
  20. Like I said, if it was all sites that I visited I throw the puter out of the window, but when its isolated to one site, that indicates that the issue is somewhere in that site. Hereby lies the problem, it just happens to the one site I spend most of my spare time!! Yes I'll check out the Skypey issue, it would make sense, but as it wasnt indicated as a problem in the warning flashes it is something easily overlooked
  21. Right, switched to Firefox on the proper lappy, away from Chrome, and seems more responsive now just cant work out why its only AT that I have problems with.
  22. I'm still struggling to stay "on-site" with all sorts of issues. And it doest matter which puter I'm on, or whether I'm on Google Chrome on the big lappy or Firefox on the netbook. I've repeatedly cleared everything in the caches, deleted history, even done a re-set on this netbook, but the issues keep coming back. It seems to be an advert (to my un-informed brain) as I get the warning "unresponsive script" flash up, and in the bottom left of the screen "waiting for ssl.something.com" I tried taking a snapshot, but when this happens the whole puter freezes til I restart it. If this happened on other sites the puter would be launched into space, but it only happens on this site.
  23. I have a Wessex tow-behind quad mower, and would say its brilliant on rough grassland etc. I cant say for rush etc as it hasnt been on that yet. Getting the tow speed right takes a little practise, you must give it time to cut and discharge, if you try to rush the job it will clog up and stretch the belts. I find between 4 and 6kph is ideal for serious rough grass, but once you've got the height down and are just maintaining you can go much faster. The flails are good for more uneven ground, where a mower deck will ground out, and will leave a reasonable finish
  24. I do know where you're coming from, and totally sympathise. In the OPs situation, I would wear the gloves as directed, wear them out in a couple of weeks, ask for a new pair, repeat as often as possible, they are far dearer than grippy gloves. I would also be working to the letter of H&S rules, HAVS regs etc etc, in order to meet company requirements of course. FTR I have a pair of chainsaw gloves, they are now 16 years old and fairly immaculate, they do wear well you know
  25. I would say, and this is only my opinion, that if the company specifies that a particular item of ppe is required to be worn, then you should just wear it. They pay for your ongoing training, ppe, insurances and so on, and they have a responsibility of care for you whilst you are in their employment. You do have a choice, you dont have to wear the gloves, they dont have to keep you.
