  1. anything like that is taxable...like i say...sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you dont
  2. american arb practice is worlds away from ours david, hence arbtalk
  3. not had chance to try it out yet mate sorry. i did have another idea flash before me the other day which was sort of born on your pictures, cant for the life of me remember what i was thinking though.
  4. you probably got lucky with the taxes mate...its a hit and miss affair
  5. welcome lewis, and good luck tomorrow
  6. fletcher stewarts are bringing out a new waterproof coat i saw at the show, at a reasonable price...im going to buy one, not sure when they are out though
  7. indeed...most brits can spell already...but now you're here i guess i'll have to change that!
  8. best thing you can do is buy a piece of each cord at the next show and try them all out....what works well for one wont work for another.....if you like the diameter of the beal regate though i'd recommend you try out yales new offering in that size range.
  9. welcome to the forum....no problem with the link...good useful info for the members is always welcome...perhaps a reciprocal link would be nice?? pass on my regards to Mark
  10. yep, susie may be watching
  11. well £70 maybe a lot.....but in reality, what was it last year...£60? so its only really £10 extra when you look at it that way. vduben....i went in a shiny ldv! no choice, missus needs the car!
  12. i think thats the reason....it was noticable that there wasnt the normal groups walking about...large companies with 10 guys in uniform in tow....thats a lot of guys to pay for the day and a lot of income to lose. i dont really think fuel was the reason, not for the most part anyway.
  13. tenex was actually the first cord i used when i first switched to the v.t, that was a length with eye slices......didnt give me much room to experiment with wraps and braids, but i do remember it being very smooth for the first few climbs, but after a bit of glazing it did start binding a bit....at over £10 for an eye to eye length it was too expensive to justify throwing it out after a little glazing. mind you...i view most of the high heat resistant cords in the same light....they glaze and lose their performance....sure they may have 4 weeks climbing left in them but still.
  14. tried that but my drill was a little blunt:sneaky2:
  15. The talk by mark bridge itself was very good....Marks a very easy person to listen to and managed to bring interesting angles to common ideas like risk assessments etc. its a shame more of us couldnt have attended, but i think everyone who did make it was glad to have attended. So many thanks to Mark for that, and also Nod for arranging it. Thanks also to the AA for allowing the use of their contractors tent for the event. As mentioned before by Nod, there was a quick whip round at the end in aid of the childrens trust. Many thanks to everyone who gave something. The total raised was £54.84 which will be forwarded to the charity first thing tomorrow....I'll try get some sort of certificate of payment sent to me to display here.
  16. yes, i bought 3 myself! the biggest let down with the revolver for me is that it wont fit the hitch climber, that would make for a superb pulley/krab for the m-redirect
  17. well if you understood it correctly i understood it incorrectly
  18. i wouldnt be worried personally....its tough as old boots that cord.
  19. no, not lighter than the climbing trousers...lighter than the extremes. maybe im wrong though, i did so much talking over the weekend, hard to take it all in! they are really aimed at groundwork though, not climbing.
  20. not so......they are a lighter improved version of the extremes
  21. haha glad you had a good night and felt like crap in the morning....had to be someone elses turn after my capel hangover! was good to finally meet you. we popped in to cirencester for a thai, which was exceptionally nice i must say. seemed to be plenty people milling about, but we went back to the show for a few beers round the fire.
