  1. I hate mewps, would far rather be in the tree!
  2. Cheers for all the replies, something to think about
  3. its called a wrap around handle...not sure its really needed on such a small saw though or if its even available. Someone will know
  4. absolutely pointless using 13mm for srt..not that I am an srt climber but I know that much! All the 3 ropes you mentioned are good
  5. I think its something like that......somehow the trees that have been regularly pollard for the past couple hundred years seem to cope though
  6. this is sort of what i was thinking would be the case
  7. Thanks for the advice Phedders, will look at those options
  8. I always go back to the knuckle. I don't really understand the concept or point of leaving longer shoots, and think it looks ridiculous, not what a traditional pollard is all about at all
  9. I broke one of those tape slings years ago negative rigging a not overly large piece of lime as it happens....they won't take as much as you think.
  10. You certainly don't want them to take wraps around the trunk with that set up. Small pieces that they can comfortable let run a little by hand.
  11. if theres no hurry probably not a lot bigger than I would hand throw down
  12. Its not the branches he is concerned about.
  13. What size sling? if the wood is that small does it even need rigging?
  14. I know there are a lot of budding photographers here so thought I would ask your advice. Looking to buy an slr camera as a gift, but have no idea on the jargon other than megapix count. Budget is around £300. Is this a realistic budget to get something decent in the slr range or would I simply be breaking into slr territory with a sub standard camera? Looking at jessops currently, any of these stand out to anyone? Digital SLR Cameras - Jessops
  15. Yep they are harmless, look scary though!!
  16. I was once reducing a conifer hedge in a garden, the sort you climb in then walk through the middle. It was pretty tall, about the height of the upstairs windows. I had the urge to pee and couldn't be bothered to climb down so figured I could just per right where u was, nothing to clean on the inside of the hedge so didn't have to worry about pissing in stuff the groundsmen were handling. What I didn't take into account though was that it was a cold cold day and the second I started a cloud of steam appeared all around me. What with the guilty look on my face it would have been pretty obvious to anyone what I was doing
  17. Sorry to hear he was a friend. I read about this yesterday. Wonder if there was more to the story? Unbelievable that someone would do something like that for such little reason
  18. Heres my review Review of the Husqvarna T536Li XP | Arborist Reviews
