  1. seems to me a lot of people try a v.t or other advanced hitch but dont give it enough time before reverting to a prussik, blakes. i dont think anyone would go back to a standard hitch if they gave it a chance. personally i loved it from day one.
  2. on yutube, just to the right of the video playing theres a box with a heading URL. copy and paste the address in that box into your post
  3. matty, this is for setting a line from the ground with a throwine. its impossible to get it round a single branch on a whorly pine, this way you dont need to
  4. you need one of those impact drivers if you've done what i think you mean
  5. anything bigs good, its making a small chipper chip like a big machine which shows superior build
  6. i think the jensen is a a great chipper, i think it out peforms a premier but doesnt seem to be quite so bullet proof
  7. heres a method i use for tying a rope off when setting a pull line. its sometimes hard to isolate one limb to send up a running bowline, specially on pines for example. what i do is send up the throwline into the crown and out the other end....then i send my pull line up and tie the end off at the base of the tree aboved the felling cut
  8. it is ocean polyester, dunno who stitches them
  9. the only thing i can see right now which i dont like is the fact that you have to have everything unclipped from your harness when initially tying in at your tip.....im always paranoid about dropping stuff. with the normal set up you would only need to unclip the spliced eye end.
  10. can they be done legally though, emmisions and all?
  11. I got these pics courtesey of rupe. the sequence of shots shows firstly the standard Hitch climber set up. in the second picture the eye is threaded through the swivel then onto the krab. in the third pic the ropeman is attached to the rope. the fourth pic shows the real benefit, the set up can be moved away from the climber without the need to lanyard in and adjust.....now the whole system is self tending! I temporarily retired my hitch climber, i cant wait to try this set up out though
  12. took the family to lowestoft today, what a cracking day it was too! the sun really did bring out the scantily clad ladies today which at best was fantastic, at worst, quite horrific
  13. out of all the machines ive used, which isnt many i prefer the premier 200mmx for all round work. id like to play around with some of the american machines sometime. when is japan gonna blow us all away with some marvel?
  14. i used to use huskys till i went on my own and now i run all stihl, it took me time to work out how to mod a stihl to out perform a 254 but was well worth it when i did
  15. haha we can also tell you're back from the pub alone!
  16. ta, looks a fair bit bulkier than cobra from the pics? what are the advantages of that over cobra?
  17. ive heard that, its beyond me as to why though!
  18. ahh, gotcha. i havent used it yet as im still trying to find someone who will splice it for me! i might end up using it as a footlocking rope. the rope feels a bit softer to the fly though, i am quite eager to try it out!
