yeah looks pretty much like a fore-gone conclusion

jim, thicker ropes are more popular because they are easier to grip....though if you switch to 11mm your grip soon accustoms...and also with devices such as cambium savers and better functioning friction hitches the smaller diameter really shouldnt be an issue at all

whats the price difference between the 2? you need to change the sprocket too....i run a 9 tooth sprocket on mine and it flys

i have a 341 and i love it....you must drop down to 3.25 pitch though or its a very sluggish saw. your dealer should supply it with 3.25 if you request it

ok, when you say at the ends, you mean actually cutting into the hinge itself? i would never do that....always a couple little nicks beneath the hinge. have cut out the middle of the hinge before if its been necessary

drew,i had the same problem with my blaze....not so bad with my fly rope, or velocity. we have discussed this many times in the past. one guy mentioned alternating the braids on the v.t. i tried that but it didnt seem to work for me, or the hitch didnt perform as i liked so i stopped. could be worth trying though.

nylon has a lower melting point than ployester, so yes its not much good

ive never had a v't creep unless its a 3-1....i gave up using that apart from on my lanyard...good fun though. telhol, if you didnt have a v.t releasing better than any other hitch its because you didnt spend enough time tuning it....its a difficult hitch to perfect but well worth the time and effort

8mm line on my flipline. works nicer than any device of found yet...specially in the 3-1 configuration although you might prefer 4-1 or 3-2. id go 8mm line on 13mm rope also.
