    treeco, i dont know about the states but over here the saws would run on different guages. anton....if the holes line up you should be able to run the bar but you would need to buy a .325 sprocket for the 361.

    best thing for your grip is indoor wall climbing.....just a case of finding the time to go....oh and it gets a little boring after a while

    the other thing to take into consideration is a wirecore is less likely to be snagged without you realizing....due to its stiffness you can generally tell where its positioned on the far side of the trunk just by looking at the portions that you can see. this cant be said for rope lanyards i dont think oh and thanks monkey....remember this particular video was shot by bob though

    in my case if it had gone to court i would have been looking at a fine anywhere between £200-£800 on the plus side they dont give you points anymore. interestingly i found out the other day that vosa are not allowed to count the driver in with the payload....has to do with discriminating against overweight drivers i believe. b oth times i was weighed i was told to stay in the vehicle..so remember that one if you get weighed.

    i got pulled over and weighed. I was 300kg overweight. enough for them to prosecute. They let me off with a warning and also put me on their records...basically meaning next time i got pulled, no pleading ignorance, straight to court for me. 2 weeks later they pulled me again.....they actually saw me coming, the copper was parked on the flyover and was out of his car chatting to the vosa guy parked in front. when he saw me coming he went running back to his car and down the slip road to pull me. Now this time I was being a bit more sensible. I had a level load of beech. My truck sides are aluminium, and 50cm deep with no chip sides, total buck measures 2.84m3 so not a large load by any means. I was legal on the rear axel but 4% over on the front. luckily for me they allow you 5% but it goes to show how useless 3.5t trucks are for arb work.

    hi ed, for a start welcome to the forum. you say your v.t locks up. did you change anything about your v.t when you switched to the rope guide? maybe you should play around with wrap combinations, maybe try a different cord. it shouldnt be locking up on you like that. one thing that makes all the difference in holding your weight is a decent pair of gloves. if you're njot already using them i suggest you go buy yourself some sticky builders type gloves, tghey will transform the ease with which you climb

    heres a couple of interesting videos courtesy of bob. I've heard people in the past who claim a wirecore offers no more safety that a rope lanyard...i think these videos clearly show otherwise
