  1. well you'd have actually thought that being on an army base there would be someone about with the skills to take down communication lines

  4. the army keep everything on a dump site on the airfield fortunately
  5. All went smoothly, despite bt deciding they wouldnt come and take down the lines for us. the wind was also a pain and the big limb going straight over the sycamore presented a slight problem. lots of ropes and redirects.....back tomorrow to flop the sizable stick.
  6. i mentioned this tree a couple of weeks ago, tackled it today for one of my contract climbing customers with the help of BigA on the ropes and Ben on ground duties along with camera duties:icon14:
  7. i dont reckon its been thinned as much as it looks ed...some of those young vigorous oaks can be quite spare in the crowns in my experience

  11. i have almost an exact replica of that job going on....repollard ever other tree last year, went to view them last week and they put on plenty growth. another year and we'll do the rest. i think trees such as these that like you say are literally falling part dont leave too many options other than repollard.

  13. its not the server mate, theres stacks of room on that, theres another problem im as yet to find
  14. did it actually tell you what you needed on that site or just point you in the direction of what book tells you?
  15. well i dont know many companies who would put much more than 2 men at work signs and a few cones out on a residential street
  16. i had one of the first pairs in the country, 3 years back, they are still going strong and get used most days
  17. fair price if you ask me for one in that nick
  18. sure for proper works....this is just a residential street though
