What on earth is "detailing" and how does it differ from a car wash?

I can imagine that if it was raining there may have been some chain oil residue as well as sawdust but nothing that hot soapy water would not shift.

Sounds like they are trying to use facebook as lever to get you to pay over the odds. Is it your facebook page they are leaving the comments on? Can you not block/wipe them? (Sorry for the ignorance I don't use Facebook).

I think you have been more than fair. I would make sure that you put your offer in writing and if they want to take you to court at least you have proof.

Detailing is when someone spends2 days washing a car!! Like my neighbour has done twice a year.

It would probably take two days to wash my truck at the minute.

Swill it down with a hosepipe and send them on their way. The Kosovars at the car wash charge £6 for a quick lather and pressure wash and make a very good job of it, £20 would get it done 3 times with change.

Detailing is a top spec valet usually done before showing a classic or vintage car.

Cheers lads. It's not on my Facebook but it's public which is good news for me. A wash would have done it but I've got everything on record and not lowered myself to Facebook retaliation which would compromise anything legal.

Glad you have yourself covered. I still don't get the Facebook position I am assuming it is on the car owners page that is open to the public?

If so your legal beagle is best placed to advise on that. I would be interested to know the outcome.
