One of my recent pieces; I wanted to do something a bit different that still had a use and I'd been thinking of making a grandfather clock for a while. I've done a couple of these now - this one's made out of sweet chestnut and was s'posed to be sold but I had one of those annoying customers who ordered it and then rang me on the day he'd arranged to pick it up - his dishwasher had broken and he couldn't afford it anymore. Good job I don't get many customers like that!

Lovely craftsmanship there! Need to at least take a 50% deposit before work commences so you're at least covered for some of your time. Also get it all in writing, signed etc before starting a project for someone

That's great work Mark.

Would value that at a lot more than any dishwasher  Just the workings must cost a bob or two.

As you say good job there are not too many folk like that in this world.
