Working & living in North London, I am guilty as the next in not looking over the hill at what's going on locally.

 

Ancient Tree Forum meeting at Greenwich Park on Thursday, Looking at Old Trees & talking around issues with management of these trees during the 2012 Olympics, which will be host to the equestrian events.

 

Quite amazing Sweet Chestnuts up to 350 + yrs old, loads of people out harvesting the nuts of these old brutes.

Had to almost restrain Ted Green from attacking one of these poor wretches for daring to throw sticks up in to them to get more nuts down

 

Interesting group of Vet Tree Experts, Entomologists, Open Space Tree Workers & Local user groups.

 

I spotted a wee little curio of a fungus on this Cedar, and not knowing quite what it was I offered it up to the pros, a little debate then ensued as to what it was, Ted & David were at cross swords on that one for a while, Bjerkandera adusta was offered up by one, and the other let it go having not agreed,. I shall leave it at that

Not found anywhere that says it hosts on Evergreens
