interesting reading, seems I could claim more than I thought to reduce my taxable profit.

 

There are things you can claim for but the advice I got from my accountant was not to try to be clever, if what you're claiming for is obviously business related fine, if it isn't and HMRC need to ask then you've just drawn attention to yourself.

 

Consider the actual value of what you're claiming for, if it's pence and isn't immediately obvious how it related to the business ask yourself if it's worth risking being called for an audit.

 

Keep accurate records, HMRC will take what they're due and give you back what you're due, try to be clever and you're asking for grief.

👍😀 that's my thoughts too. If it's even slightly tenuous it's out of expenses for me
