I so want to contribute but restraint is the order of the day I believe.

 

Regarding the image (trees/hedge/fence?) = acceptable for what it is I would suggest, i.e. a combination of all three.

I do hedge just like that every year, only the good side is facing the paddock, the bare side the school...

 

I chopped all the branches off the school side to save the hassle of trimming up against the school fence..

 

I aught to go round an see what it looks like from the other side, I'd always imagined it looks pretty neat.. though as in the pics, bare...
