Wheelright:recomendations please

I have two wooden Cart type wheels I need rebuilt.I have the Hubs,Tyres,fellows and rims but wood is rotten.

 

Does anyone on here undertake such work or recommend anyone who does?

 

These need to be spot on.

I've got a customer who's bang into his old carts mate, I can ask him if you're stuck.

Be nice to give the work to someone on here though.

Stubby probably still uses them, he might know.

That would be great if you could mate.They are more like Old Car wheels than Cart wheels,Metal Hubs with Brass bushes.Its all there,just the wood is knackered.

They will be used to an extent.

All due respect Mike, I think you should stop being a skinflint with this idea.

In the long run, you'd be wise to replace your Unimog wheels with proper metal ones, not wooden!

Hi Mike Rowland wheelwright tel 01297 552562 he is down near seaton in devon he makes wheels for the queens carriages so he must be pretty good at it .

I could have played the google game too,however the wheels are irreplaceable as the carridge is probably the last known one in existence.
