to update this thread for those who may need to know in the future:

 

Pfanner apparently can make custom trousers in that size but require a 16 week time period (type A, class 1)

 

And Arbortec sell trousers up to 5xl which they say on their website can accommodate up to 54" (type c, class 2)

 

the price was basically the same

Ironically when he cracks on with a bit of saw work he'll soon drop to a 30" waist like the rest of us.
