Just heard about Navara's snapping in half so thought I'd look in to it...

I would imagine that to snap one you have to work it hard, carrying heavy loads off road fro prolonged periods. I think most of the failures have been in Australia which says a lot.

 

My mates 08 snapped because it was rotten , black crusty and thin as paper at the rear axle area . Local farmer near me had a 2007 with the same problem .

 

The 4x4 breaker in Perth told me he has seen loads broken , so I don't think its an isolated incident . Maybe worse up here due to more winter salt ?
