Why? I don't know much about that.

Meme-coin?

he used the office of President to promote the coin

The venture has faced widespread condemnation from ethics experts for Donald Trump's conflicts of interest related to the project and his presidential duties. During the second Trump administration, Trump has promoted $Trump and taken actions that have raised the value of the meme coin, contributing to a substantial increase in his net worth.[3]

Get into power, launch a crypto currency, make policies that the government will support crypto currency more and take a commission for each of yours that you sell. Trumps are now worth more than his property empire (reputed to be billions), from nothing at the start of the year. That one? To continue the thought from above, Trumps fortune has rocketed since he was elected for the 2nd time, much of it profiting from his position.

The other biggie is his ballroom, first touted that he would pay the 200 million from his own pocket but now it is 300 millions, and 'others' are paying for it - big corporations who will not be doing that out the goodness of their hearts, they will want their payback, Trump will want his name on the ballroom, a $300million bung to get his name in lights for eternity. Big corporations will need to say the payback on capital invested will be returned double or more.

But... a sure he is an honourable man (?), all he does is for the good of the US and the greater world.

Jesus, the crap people waste their money on.

It's a cult, a quasi-religion.

Mmmm interesting.  I think it is clear why they removed that line.  It is nonsense.

I guess you don’t know about Nixon and watergate.  Or indeed Clinton. Not to mention many moons ago Harding.

Trump has been accused of various things, but so far not much has stuck.

That's an interesting stance. We must live in parallel universes. Yes, I've obviously heard of Nixon and Clinton, but not Harding I must admit. We'll have to agree to disagree again.

It's rather a tricky thing to quantify anyway: the exact degree and then ranking of Openness of Corruption. How would it ever be proved one way or another in court if it ever came to that? Why isn't Bregman afraid of Trump coming after him for libel? Maybe he realises that, or maybe he was figuratively speaking. Or maybe he was talking about moral corruption. Who knows. (Whatever the case, Trump habitually makes far more outrageous claims.)

The upshot is that our national broadcaster is being bullied into self-censorship by a foreign leader.  I guess that doesn't bother you, which is a surprise.

Regardless of magnitude, do you accept that there is a a certain degree of corruption in the Trump administration? Similarly, that the Death of Freedom of Speech is happening to a certain extent? I rather thought you'd be concerned at the latter if nothing else.

<Trump has been accused of various things..>   - Occam's Razor needs to applied.
<...but so far not much has stuck.>
- there's probably reasons for that, as already discussed.
