but all are indicative of the current themes the young are subjected to these days, hardly surprising there are mental problems, and various other manifestations of unbalanced behavior.

I'm 72 I was schooled as were most throughout my childhood, I cant recall anything other that boys and girls, I don't recall kids requiring therapy, or drugs, or special toilets, these are associated with today, and   now they have "labels" autism and adhd are but two such labels.

I completely agree that the young are now subjected to far too many adverse influences. Social Media, Ultra Processed Food and pollution being some of the worst. Also, that we're now sadly seeing plenty of consequences of those. I grew up in the 70/80s and life was a hell of a lot simpler then. I have grave concerns about all the shit that my son is going to have to navigate through as he grows up. Not to mention the fcked planet he's inheriting.

However, I don't agree with lumping ADHD/Autism together with BS like kids identifying as cats. They don't all belong under the same umbrella. The former should not, except in extreme, cases be considered a problem IMO. The later definitely is, obviously. Unless you think vaccines like MMR and Covid are responsible for the Cat Children as well.

I'm an observer, with my own opinion based on my observations.

my observations have led me to the conclusion,, "never rule anything out"

you have my sympathy in addressing your first paragraph.

one of the reasons I chose not to have kids.

You would never reach a conclusion if you didn't rule things out though. Or, you would never reach a conclusion if you took everything into account.

ADHD possibly caused from the increase in air travel for instance, or caused by the increase in the spread of Japanese knotweed. I know for a fact the first one will hold water with chemtrail believers :D

The "causation vs correlation fallacy"

I thought a few might bring that up,, you were my 2nd choice.:thumbup1:

So autism and ADHD are spectrums, it isn't digital that you have it or not (kind of), in the past when most of us were growing up to be identified as having it you had to have very clear behaviours. Over time being able to identify someone as having them has improved, and can be identified at a lower level... and so more and more people get a diagnosis. Often makes no difference to their lives apart from being able to identify some of their characteristics and why they are different to others. Now there are a lot of people diagnosed, before there weren't.

Having a diagnosis isn't a problem to the world, just one of those things.

Nothing to do with the MMR jabs, measles jabs or other vaccinations - MMR jabs are given about 6 months before ADHD / Autism can be diagnosed as a coincidence. Coincidence picked up by mumsnet and RFK Junior, broadcast to the world as fact, but wrong, in fact anyone believing either of those 2 should be barred from having kids anyway.
