Referendum would be nice post Brexit on the matter.

I think referenda are rather out of fashion (except for wee cranky - and even she doesn't really want one) since they got their fingers burned by 17 million FOs 😆

Eggs these dicks coming on TV every day spouting shit have no more idea where these drivers are gonna come from than you or I 🤷‍♂️. Makes me laugh when politicians keep talking of calling in the Army, yet year after year they keep cutting its numbers.
Fuel crisis if there ever was one was a creation of the media, somehow it didn’t get to NI or rural Aberdeenshire in my case. Mind you I did hear Iron Bru is in short supply but  “only in Scotland”.

They must realise we know they are full of shit? I just don't know why he would tweet those things, he volunteered that information, it's not like he was being pressed for an answer.

Shotrage of Iron Bru, now that could cause serious disorder North of the border...

whilst amusing as it is to watch the farce that is  socialism/labour its distracting from the muppetry that's going on in gov. A true Conservative gov is needed.

End of dole/benefits as a life-style choice.

You forgot village stocks and public flogging - apart from that - where do I sign.....🤣

Whilst the village stock quip was meant in jest, made me stop and wonder what we have created that supposedly passes for 'society' these days.

Example - there's a report of a creature that has taken to having a dump in public places before he gets on the bus in the morning in a nearby village as reported in the attached pic from social media (I using that as a fairly tenuous 'relevance check' for the making the news today thread.)

About half the comments that have followed seem to focus on him being the vulnerable victim in need of 'help' and the other half advocate moderate to extreme vigilantism.

If we accept that he needs 'help' then he joins the seemingly ever increasing line of characters that need some sort of assistance fitting into society and appear unable to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

The alternative is to beat the idiot with a hazel stick until he realises the error of his ways.  Is that a bit too close to Sharia?

I'll mull it over and hopefully not have the misfortune to encounter this miscreant before I've succumbed to the woke agenda that will probably designate HIM as the victim.....

Total of all UK armed forced 149000 ish, total NHS workforce 1.2 million, of which over 50000  are on £100k a year plus “often much much more” There’s something badly badly wrong with those figures in my eyes.

If you think the media lies are bad now, you should have seen what they did to Corbyn.

That belongs in the "Jokes" thread Mark 😆

Even Labour can't stand Corbyn 😆

Fair enough, I can't argue with that.

I should have wrote 'If you think the media lies are bad now, just look what they did for Boris Johnson'

But as soon as Steamer mentioned it in his speech, the hysterical baying mob reacted as if he was referring to the some great, almighty Diety.

Many of us have had life changing / saving experiences with the NHS (I guess the overwhelming majority were actually born with the assistance of that service - not sure if Stubby pre-dates NHS??) and whilst there is much to be immeasurably grateful for, the whole institution has become like some sacred beast that may never be questioned and must be fed an ever increasing sum of money just to keep it ticking over.

If ever there was a subject that would benefit from less 'heat' and more 'light' "NHS - the next 50 years" would be it.

Pretty much spot on. My mother whom is sadly suffering from Dementia, not helped by the restrictions and pure bollocks we’ve had to live with for 18 months which is now thankfully just about done with south of sturgeons wall, was pre covid in hospital for virtually the first time in her life other than childbirth  for an operation, She was as a young woman  a nurse herself in the RAF down in Ely and commented on the sheer numbers of nurses and staff stood around doing not a lot. She also observed a good number of them being like “House ends” Mark J will get that one. Now the NHS in itself is a great thing and I’d never say anything different, how it’s gone on to be run is a different thing all together.

Yup, the NHS is an inefficient beast at times. I know that private companies are engaged in finding ways to streamline things, which is good in my eyes.
