I still think a strong fox will go back to “its” territory than go on miles away... will a hunt really carry on for 20 miles ?

Thing is the leftist class war environmentalists do acknowledge the need for apex predators hence all the calls for lynx and wolfs to be reintroduced.. but that’s ok because it will only be killing the toffs sheep.

By Christ, you're on form today son!

I’m obviously not trying hard enough if first, Mr C calls me a socialist and then you seem to imply that any anti hunt sentiment equates to being a lefty class war sandal wearing yogurt eating enviro hippy ?

My appeny worth is.

SW Scotland pheasant shoot estate, every winter would see heaps of raddled carcasses not fit fr dog food, delivered by bunch of hurrah henrys. Only present wildlife was Red squirrels ( protected spp) nowt else on estate even moles targeted ?  pontless use of particularly good farming lowland area. Plantation conifer of the Kershope area.

Midlands deer shooting ( munjak) highways (  Parker Hale on my ticket) safety and tree crop protection. Bit of fox shooting fr sheep farmer there ( Voehr. 22) so Fox control is doable without the Hunt. Deer you have to shoot ( tastey )  Pheasant shooting isnt a sport in my book, its a Class priveledge. Waste of money.

Ah, you can't beat a reasoned argument with a lightning fast riposte. I must remember this well thought out phrase of yours, Mr Johnson. What was it again? Oh, yes. F*ck off. That's quite enough of your salty talk on here, young man.

You well know it was an entirely appropriate, suitable and proportional response, carefully crafted after due thought to the suitably robust nature of the recipient and in response to a deliberate and intentional attempt to side track away from the key point of the discussion and the direction it was taking.

Not always appropriate I’ll grant you, but under the prevailing circumstances in which it was deployed, and the recipient, it was entirely appropriate, swift, precise and to the point.

Hang over better then ?

I've done a lot of shooting in the past, had some great days on pheasants, partridge, duck, and shot a lot of rabbits, pigeons etc around the farm. I used to do a lot of beating about 15 years back and think that well managed, responsible shooting is an important part of the countryside and provides jobs, and local income.

I cannot understand fox hunting when its been illegal for years and is a lightening conductor for all that is wrong with the countryside and one rule for them and another for us. It makes the rest of the countryside look bad and surely brings unwarranted ire against more reasonable activities. I also despise and can't understand shoots running 5 or 600 bird days, it's no more challenging than shooting a shed full of chickens and again makes everyone involved look like a gigantic bunch of dicks to anyone reasonable looking in from the outside.

I was keeper on a small ( social syndicate ) shoot . 6 days a season + a beaters day . We thought we were doing well if we shot 500 all season !
